Welcome home, Mr. Moore!!! We are thrilled to welcome Mr. David Moore as the newest director of the Austin Band family!

A proud Austin Band alumnus, Mr. Moore earned his Bachelor of Music Education degree from the University of North Alabama. His background in percussion methods, passion for music education, and enthusiasm for teaching full band make him a wonderful addition to our program.

The first Calhoun Community College Jazz Camp this summer is the Middle School Jazz Camp, June 15-19 (8:30am-12pm). In the style of Preservation Hall, students will learn jazz improvisation, jazz history, and will perform a concert at the end of the week. Students will work with Dr. Matt Leder and a professional rhythm section, there will be snacks, and a Jazz Camp T-Shirt! Scan the QR code to register ASAP! Come join the music! $150 for the week!

The Austin Junior High School Band service project for the 2025-26 school year was collecting pull tabs to donate to Ronald McDonald House Charities. The tabs are recycled, and the proceeds help support families while their children receive medical care. We were honored to do this project in memory/honor of Alice Haughaboo. 🧡

Part 2 of Pigeon Forge Band/Choir trip 20026.

Austin Middle School and junior high band and choir students. I had a wonderful trip and Sweet Water and Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. More pictures to come. This was a great way to end our school year and hard-working music experience for 2025-26.

We are so proud of Keldon who was honored at last night’s Decatur City's Board of Education meeting!
⭐️ Keldon brought home not one, but TWO top honors! He earned 1st place on euphonium at the District 1 level, qualifying him for state — where he then took 1st place on euphonium in the State Middle School Band Competition! 🎺 Keldon was also one of our first students to reach Million Word Reader status. We are beyond proud of you, Keldon!
