Calvin Couther creates watercolor and acrylic artworks. As a painter, Calvin Couther's mediums are watercolors and acrylics.

Although he paints diverse subjects, his heart and soul reflect an era of time between the latter 1800’s and the mid 1900’s. These are paintings that “reflect a part of the American experience, a reality that should not be forgotten, although there were challenges, there was a greater sense of community”. Art collectors from east to west and north to south have expressed that his work is “very detailed and sets the mood for reflection and relaxation”.

Are you making the most of your wall space? When displaying artwork, it’s not just about what you hang—it’s also about how you hang it.

For taller, narrow spaces, portrait-oriented art works best, while wider spaces are better suited for horizontal pieces. Keeping these principles in mind can make a big difference in a room’s flow and feel.

Another key tip: hang artwork at eye level whenever possible. The center should sit around 57–60 inches from the floor for a natural, balanced look.

While the New Year is often when we think about fresh starts, spring feels like a second chance to reset and refocus.

If January felt like a ‘false start,’ this season offers a chance to pick things back up. And if you’re already soaring, it’s like a little boost to carry you into the rest of the year.

For me, spring is the perfect time to create new art while also rediscovering familiar work through fresh eyes.

How about you? Where are you at as the first quarter of the year comes to a close?

Have you seen the trend surrounding ‘the big light’? 💡

More and more people are moving away from traditional overhead ceiling lights to create intimate spaces with creative and colorful lighting.

With colored LED technology becoming more affordable and accessible, this trend is making a major impact on interior design—and it opens up exciting possibilities for showcasing artwork.

It's easier than ever to install and use art lighting, but here’s a tip: choose lighting with complementary colors to enhance your art without washing it out.

What about you? Are you experimenting with creative lighting in your home these days?
