Congratulations to Joshua Wintermeyer on being chosen for the 2025-2026 ⚜️Scout-of-the-Year⚜️ by Clinton Illinois V.F.W. Post 4168. He received this honor tonight at his school's Senior Awards Night.

Congratulations are in order for Matthew and Daniel on earning their Brotherhood in the Order of the Arrow today. They have hereby reaffirmed their commitment to continued service and their belief in the high purposes of the Order of the Arrow.

Did you know the person in charge of the parachutes for the Artemis II mission is an Eagle Scout from Decatur?

Jared Daum is an aerospace engineer with NASA and served as the Parachute Systems Manager for the Artemis II mission.

Pretty incredible to see local Scouting shaping leaders who are helping send humans back to the Moon. 🚀

On Saturday, we honored Lucas Jable as Troop 104's newest Eagle Scout. Congratulations, Lucas!

Special thanks to Mitch Lovgren and Rock Springs Conservation Area for working with our Scouts to earn some conservation service hours. Last night they helped us with planting 25 new oak trees for a new oak savanna at Rock Springs. The trees were purchased and donated by a local 4-H group.

Congratulations, Declan, on completing your Eagle Service Project! As you can see in the video, we spread all the much in record time. We are proud that you did such a great job to help improve your community. Thank you to all of the Scouts, parents, and the Village of Forsyth, IL who helped Declan along the way!

Great job to Declan on his Eagle Scout Project!

You may remember a few months back we shared that Declan Stewart was raising money for his Eagle Scout project… well, he was successful!

His project adds a pull-up bar and parallel bars to our existing equipment, enhancing the space for even more community use.

Yesterday, he dug the holes, today our Public Works crew is assisting with installation, and tomorrow he’ll wrap things up with the mulch base.

Declan has done an incredible job leading this project from start to finish. We are honored he chose Forsyth and grateful we could play a small part in such a meaningful accomplishment. Stay tuned for pictures of the final result!

Learning real world skills is part of what Scouting is all about. Last weekend two of our Scouts completed welding merit badge. They had a great time, learned a great skill, and brought home a cool eagle they each made.

Knots, cooking, first aid, fire building, orienteering, shelter building, and more...our Scouts put their skills to the test at the Klondike Derby!! They showed great teamwork and won 2nd place in the Junior Division and 1st place in the Senior Division. Great job Scouts!
