Connect to Glennwood Elementary using Artsonia to receive important updates on your child’s art classroom activity!

CSD invites your participation in a Pre-K survey. School principals recommended parents from their respective schools to participate in a working group to assist CSD in determining how best to engage with families, staff, and the broader community to inform decisions about Pre-K families' priorities in Decatur, including potential locations, transportation, and changing community needs. This survey is the committee's first community outreach, inviting all families and community members to participate, regardless of their children's ages.

Survey results will be shared, along with community insights and project updates, on the Pre-K Access Project webpage at: https://decatur.app.convoca.org. The data will result in a recommendation to the Board of Education at the December board meeting.

Glennwood Elementary Garden Gnomies 🌱🦅💚

We had another fun Glennwood spirit night filled with friends, fun, and of course popsicles! 💚🦅

Thank you for helping with the Staff Appreciation efforts of stocking the staff break room at Glennwood in September. Please deliver the donated items to Ms. Reynolds between September 15-16th. We will be cleaning and stocking up the lounge on September 17th.

If you are unable to purchase items, but would like to donate funds towards helping us stock the break room, the PTA is also collecting monetary donations. We enjoyed our first Sidekicks of the year last week! 🌟💚 Sidekicks is a program that aims to foster a sense of support and connection within the CSD AANHPI (Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians and Pacific Islanders) and APIDA (Asian Pacific Islander Desi American) community. Decatur HS student mentors are grouped into pairs and matched up with Glennwood elementary students that identify as part of the community.

The focus for this first meetup was getting to know each other and building group connectedness by creating a Coat of Arms for each group, that they will continue to decorate each month.

They started with a scavenger hunt for each group where they got to work as a team, and ended with the Friendship Tunnel 🤗🫶

There’s something pretty magical about watching our Garden Gnomies’ bean seeds grow. Some are tall. Some are tiny. Some sprout fast, others take their time.🌿🫘🫛

They all grow at their own pace and each one grows into something uniquely their own, just like our Glennwood Eagles.💚🦅

We love watching our little gardeners learn that there’s no one “right” way to grow in the garden or in life. ✨
