[LACEY'S SPRING] Deputies are on scene of a wreck involving a gas truck that has dropped some bottles off the back of the truck. North Bound 231 shut down at this time. Hazmat on scene.

On September 24, 2026, Clifford H Clemmons Jr 46 was arrested on a warrant obtained by investigators for failing to register as a s*x offender as required by law.

He is charged with:
▪️15-20A-12 - S*x Offense-Adult S*x Offender - Violation of Homelessness Restrictions

S*x Offender who list themselves as homeless are required to register and then check-in, in person, every 7 days in the county of conviction.

Clemmons was booked into the Morgan County Jail. Bond $2,500.

On September 23, 2026, Deputies conducted a traffic stop on I-65 as part of an ongoing Morgan County Sheriff's Drug Enforcement Unit investigation. During the stop, K9 Deputy Boaz alerted to the presence of narcotics.

A subsequent search revealed a bag containing a white, crystal-like substance in the car and a bag concealed on the driver. The substance tested positive as methamphetamine and weighed over a half pound.

Deputies arrested:

Chapedron Martize Turner, 35, of Warrior, AL, charged with:
◾️13A-12-231 - Dangerous Drugs-Drug Trafficking
▪️Bond $500,000

Lula Estelle Kirksey, 38, of Warrior, AL, charged with:
◾️13A-12-231 - Dangerous Drugs-Drug Trafficking
▪️Bond: $100,000

Both were transported to and booked in the Morgan County Jail.

Highway 67 at Six Mile Rd in Somerville is cureently shutdown as Volunteer Fire works to extinguish a vehicle fire.

Vehicle Fire on I-65 between Hartselle and Falkville. Interstate will be shut down as fire crews get blaze under control.

Southbound traffic will be diverted onto Thompson Rd exit.
