Last two pieces completed are now in their respective new homes! First is the second rendition of “We Walk the Path” , 18x24x2”, from our Africa trip some years ago. The Sunflowers 10x12x 1/2” was a present to a friend who loves these brilliant flowers and who is retiring. Both paintings are drawn from my own photos and/or memory; arylic paint and collage are layered several times throughout the process and finished with an artist grade “varnish”.

Second Acrylic/Collage piece from Africa trip. Don't have a title yet but it you think of one you want to share, I am open :). I will be doing one more piece from Africa and then switching to another trip. I may continue working of pieces from Mexico or Ecuador. The second drawing is a preliminary for the third Africa trip piece.

Currently working on Still Life process. Soon to add a Figure Painting class and Figure Drawing.

RETIREMENT: finally, I thought I could paint all day but travel is taking a good part of my time. That being said, I am taking some classes to get back into the swing of things. I took a still life class recently with the amazing Suzy Schultz. Look up her website; the figure paintings are tremendous. We practiced on bowls first then a regular still life set up. The piece on the right is almost done.

Grad school is done so it is time for ART! I plan on painting mixed media pieces soon. I found two previous pieces that I thought I would share. The first was completed on my iPad and the second is acrylic and watercolor.

Encaustics art involves the use of wax in a variety of ways. Layering, paint, photos, script. This is a new beginning of an art form for me.

The first two were created from an App called Paper 53. The last two are a mixture of all water media and some forms of collage. The last one (with the umbrella) was accepted into this years Georgia Water Color Society's Member's show and has awarded me enough points to receive my GWS. I can proudly display this after my name on my paintings.
