Two Gardens, much to learn from each of them. I’d love to share my newest post with you at (link in bio) drduanewhite.substack.com

There are moments you don’t plan… you just step into them.

After celebrating the anniversary of one of our o2 family churches, Kris and I met up with our dear friends Paul () and Perrianne () at the Ft. Worth Arts & Jazz Festival… and then this happened.

They introduced us to Richard Wilson ().

Not just an artist… a voice.

A prophet… with paint instead of words.

Every piece he creates carries something deeper… something you don’t just see… you feel.
A message… a moment… a movement.

Paul and Perrianne bought this piece for our grandson Zion’s birthday. (You can tell he loved it in the second pic).

And I’m telling you…
This will preach.

But I’ll let it preach for itself…

Because some messages aren’t meant to be explained… they’re meant to be encountered.

Go find Richard’s work.

Lean in.

Pay attention.

You won’t be disappointed.

PS… find friends like Paul and Perrianne. The kind who make random introductions that turn into divine appointments on ordinary Sunday afternoons.

What if there were more to the Sunday School song you might have learned growing up?

“It’s Friday… but Sunday’s comin’.”

I’ve listened to that sermon for decades.
This year, sitting with my grandson, it hit differently.

Because this Easter… it felt like the rhythm reversed.

I tried to put words to that.

After climbing the mountain of redemption, after all the language about being “in Christ,” chosen, redeemed, sealed, and seated, Paul begins stacking up some of the most explosive power language in the entire New Testament…

“His blood be on us…”
They didn’t know what they were asking…
but heaven answered anyway.

April Fools reminds us how easy it is to believe the wrong story…
Spy Wednesday reminds us how costly that can become.
Today’s note is up.

Not every “voice” is prophetic! Check out this short Substack thought.

This weekend the world turned green… green beads, green beer an even some green beads. There seems to be a shamrock in every celebration.
But the real story of Patrick is far more powerful.
A slave who became a missionary…
A wound that became a calling…
A fire that could not be put out.
I wrote a fresh reflection (on substack) for St. Patrick’s Day. I would love for you to read it.

Today marks 35 years that and I said “yes” to each other.

Over the years some people have called me a prophet.
But the truth is… I married a poet.

Others have called me a builder.
But the truth is… I married a decorator.

Where I can be intense, she is tender.
Where I can be loud, she is kind.
Where I sometimes charge ahead… she notices the people along the road.

Kris sees people.
And when she sees them… she celebrates them.

Most people know she carries confetti in her purse in case a party breaks out.
That’s not just a quirky detail… it’s who she is.

In 35 years we’ve lived in 17 homes… but we’ve only belonged to four churches.
Many houses… but a few sacred homes.

She has been the glue that held our family together… an incredible mom… and now the best Nanny our grandkids could ask for.

Our first “date” was at the Black Eyed Pea.
The restaurant may not exist anymore… but thankfully our relationship does!

And I remember telling her on that first date,
“I don’t want to date anyone unless we’re moving toward marriage.”

Someone once said a lasting marriage simply has more yeses than nos.

If that’s true… Kris is the reason our story has lasted.

When we married 35 years ago, I walked to the altar with my grandfather to the hymn:

“Just as I am, without one plea… but that thy blood was shed for me”

Somehow that young version of me already knew… I was bringing my imperfect self and trusting the grace of Jesus to do what I never could.

Thirty-five years later… that grace is still carrying us.

Happy 35th anniversary, Kris.

I truly believe the best chapters are still ahead.

What happens when the book of Revelation becomes a geopolitical script?

What happens when Christians start talking about war as part of God’s plan?

The early church had a very different posture.

I wrote a reflection about Armageddon, the Lamb, and how we read Revelation.
