With the DeKalb County Board of Education considering closing as many as 27 schools, I know our residents have real concerns about our county's future. That's why, after a recent trip to Washington, D.C., I'm exploring 24/7 childcare options for working parents in DeKalb County, regardless of income.

Whether you work a 9-to-5 or the midnight shift, every parent deserves peace of mind knowing their child is safe and cared for.

Stay tuned as this vision develops for 2026 and beyond! 💪

I'm excited to share an update on Pleasantdale Park! 🌳

This beloved 14-acre park in our community is ready for a major transformation. We have $2 million in SPLOST funds allocated and a $1 million grant request submitted, all working toward an ultimate goal of a $15 million redevelopment that our families deserve.

I'm hoping we can break ground this year, and I can't wait to see what this park becomes for our community.

Stay tuned for more updates!

Big things are coming to DeKalb County, Georgia.

As Chairman of the Public Works and Infrastructure Committee, I’m excited to share an update on our 2026 Capital Improvement Projects. The investments we’re making in our water and sewer systems will serve our community for generations to come.

From major upgrades at the Murphy-Scott Water Treatment Plant to critical improvements at our south DeKalb wastewater facilities, we’re committed to delivering clean, reliable water and stronger infrastructure across every part of the county. 💧

Stay tuned as these essential improvements move forward.

Stronger communities start with healthier residents ❤️‍🩹🌍

Today, on World Health Day, we are reminded that the health of our community is the foundation of everything we build together. When our residents are healthy, our neighborhoods thrive, our families grow stronger, and our county flourishes.

That's why access to quality healthcare for every DeKalb County resident, regardless of income or circumstance, is a priority we take seriously.

On this World Health Day, let's recommit to building a DeKalb County where every resident has access to the resources, support, and care they need to live a healthy and fulfilling life.

On March 24th, we were proud to host our 2026 Women's History Month Trailblazer Award Ceremony, where we had the honor of recognizing a truly deserving honoree, Lily Pabian, Executive Director of We Love Buford Highway!

Lily's story is one of resilience, purpose, and deep community roots. As an immigrant who once called Buford Highway home, she has dedicated over 30 years of her career to nonprofit leadership, community engagement, and uplifting the people around her. Today, she channels all of that experience into protecting, celebrating, and elevating the vibrant Buford Highway corridor for generations to come.

Congratulations to our 2026 Trailblazer Award Honoree! You are truly deserving of this recognition! 💪
