Nadya:
“My favorite part about Hollow Bones was that we created three distinct stories within the performance, three characters each with their own unique arc. I personally was thinking about the ending of the each story a lot.”

Introducing another Bautanzt Here Board Member!

Berk Ă–zbarlas (he / him)
Entrepreneur, business owner, art enthusiast, painter, designer, active in sports

We asked Berk what was his favorite Bautanzt Here performance.

“Hollow Bones. I had the honor and privilege to see first hand how design and construction of costumes and installations progressed and came to life. It was an exciting and creative process. The characters for this specific performance were very well constructed. I liked the way they communicated, their dialogue and slow pace walk was a powerful emotional expression.

I believe dance is the best outlet for expression and I like how far Bautanzt Here has come. I wish to see more street performances (free-form movement) where our dancers can connect with random audiences and also indoor performances; planned, composed, structured choreography and intimate....

Let’s experience audience applause and direct appreciation more this year.”

Yes, when working on Hollow Bones - our first project for Atlanta Beltline - we rehearsed in the little studio at the ! Fun times :)

We are very grateful to Berk for his support as a volunteer and an audience member throughout all these years. Excited for what’s to come next!

Introducing Bautanzt Here Chair!

Sammy Spriggs, she / they.
dance artist, educator, mom, goofball

Insider info 🤫: it was Sammy who inspired Nadya to register Bautanzt Here as a nonprofit, and Nadya is so happy to have them as a Chair since day 1!

We asked Sammy why they decided to join our Board.
- I truly believe in the value of Nadya’s work. I get excited by her ideas and collaborative spirit. Her vision is so unique and her commitment to the Atlanta Dance Community is apparent. I joined the Board of Directors so that I can be a part of making this work possible and support Nadya’s work as she has supported multitudes of other artists and organizations during her time in Atlanta.

Introducing the newest addition to the Bautanzt Here Board!

Jordan Young, Vice-Chair. He / Him.
Media artist, connector, keeper of the bit, creative instigator at

We asked Jordan why he decided to join our Board:
“Art isn’t confined to the proscenium or the gallery. Bautanzt Here makes art happen where people are, disrupting the rhythms of modern life and inviting us to take a moment to celebrate our bodies and the space we share. The work incites wonder and curiosity, harnessing human collaboration with public spaces that betrays the world as more magical than it appears.”

As a collaborator, Jordan took some amazing photos for us. Some of them are included in this post - just swipe through.

We are very excited and grateful about this new chapter in Bautanzt Here’s story.

Over the course of 5 and a half years of creating and performing site-specific works, Bautanzt Here reimagined various public spots as stages. One of our favorites is definitely an Old Fourth Ward Plaza right on the Atlanta Beltline . It was our perfect playground with benches, stairwells of different shapes and sizes, sculptures and installations nearby.

But the main thing - we were able to interact with audiences and see their reactions to our rehearsal or performance right away. The largest audience we ever had!

We hope to be back to that special place again.

It’s time to start introducing the amazing team behind Bautanzt Here, starting with our Board members!

Jacque Pritz (she / her)
- an artist, experiential producer, traveler, founder of
- our treasured Treasurer, and one of the founding company members.

We asked Jacque what was her first memory about Bautanzt Here.

“One of my favorite memories is the very first project I was invited to partake in, which was the pre-show performance with Porter Grubbs before the Bautanzt premiere in 2020. I was still fairly new to the Atlanta dance scene at the time. I’ve been fortunate to be included in several BH performances since then and I always love the invitation to play and explore!

Another favorite performance was The Messenger at 7 Stages. It was durational, exploratory, interactive, and unlike anything I’ve done before! I also really enjoyed the collaborators, costumes, and set design for that work. I’m so grateful for the trust that Nadya has for her collaborators and it gives me the confidence to dance outside of the box!”
