Juneteenth is a reminder that freedom has a history—and that progress is still a promise we have to keep. Today, we honor the resilience, courage, and strength of our community, and we commit to the work that comes next: justice, dignity, and opportunity for all.
Happy Juneteenth. Let’s remember, reflect, and build together.

Today, we celebrated the opening of the South DeKalb Day Center @ New Life Church! This is a new and pivotal resource hub providing meals, support services, and pathways to stability for individuals experiencing homelessness.
This center represents hope, dignity, and opportunity, connecting residents with housing assistance, healthcare, employment resources, and more. Together, we are building a stronger, more compassionate District 3 and ensuring our neighbors have access to the support they need to thrive .

Yesterday, we celebrated the groundbreaking of Candler Crossing at Candler Road and Glenwood Road—a long-awaited investment bringing new grocery access, retail, public amenities, and renewed energy to District 3.
As your current District 3 Commissioner, I’m proud to stand with our community, county leadership, and partners who helped move this vision forward.
