Architecture shapes what we see and how we interact with each other. In an age of AI, misinformation, and division, we need spaces that serve and elevate our humanity more than ever.

I enjoyed talking to students at Georgetown University in Qatar taking Dr. Magdalena Rostron’s course on writing and culture. We talked about whether GU-Qs building adapted to the culture in Qatar or was an imposed design. They asked many interesting questions and seemed to agree that the architect could have done more to study the material culture and religion of Qatar and design the building accordingly, with consequences on how the students feel while in the building. As these young leaders develop, it’s nice to know they are thinking about and articulating what they value and starting to think about how to reshape their country to align with those values.

This new design for a courtyard house includes 6 bedrooms, 10 bathrooms, 3 courtyards including one with a pool, a gym, an office and sitting room with its own entrance, a maids room, and third living room with rooftop terrace. Could you see yourself living here?
