The Decatur splash pad located at Memorial Park is currently closed due to weather conditions.

City Hall will be closed on Friday, June 19, in observance of Juneteenth. Regular business hours will resume on Monday, June 22.

Juneteenth commemorates June 19, 1865, when news of emancipation finally reached enslaved people in Galveston, Texas—more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was issued. The day serves as a celebration of freedom, resilience, and the ongoing pursuit of equality.

We encourage everyone to take a moment to reflect on the significance of this important day in our nation's history.

The Memorial Park Splash Pad is scheduled to reopen at 3:00 PM today.

After this morning's heavy rainfall, crews have completed the necessary inspections and preparations to safely welcome everyone back.

It has turned into a beautiful afternoon, and we invite you to get outside, enjoy the sunshine, and make the most of your day.

FLOOD ADVISORY HAS BEEN REPLACED WITH A FLASH FLOOD WARNING

The Flood Advisory is replaced by a Flash Flood Warning for a portion
of north central Texas, including the following areas, Cooke, Denton,
Jack, Montague and Wise.

The threat of flooding continues and a Flash Flood Warning is now in
effect.

The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Advisory for portions of Wise County, including northern areas of Decatur, until 11:00 a.m. today.

Heavy rainfall associated with thunderstorms has produced between 1 and 2 inches of rain across parts of the region, with an additional 1 to 2 inches possible this morning. Minor flooding may occur in low-lying areas, along creeks, and in locations with poor drainage.

Residents are encouraged to use caution when traveling and remain aware of changing conditions. Never drive through flooded roadways. Even shallow water can be dangerous and may conceal roadway damage.

Remember: Turn Around, Don't Drown.

The City of Decatur will continue to monitor conditions and provide updates as information becomes available. Please stay weather aware and use caution throughout the morning.

The Splash Pad at Memorial Park is temporarily closed for maintenance. Our City of Decatur Parks team is working to complete the necessary items as quickly as possible.

We appreciate your patience and understanding. Updates will be shared as soon as they are available.

A white party is a social event where guests are asked to wear all white or mostly white clothing. The dress code is the defining feature, and the atmosphere is often stylish, elegant, and festive.

The DCC White Party is a celebration of our 25th anniversary in operation, providing space for Wise County's most memorable events. The event benefits Wise County Texas United Way. It will be Saturday, June 27th.

Forever Young DJ will keep the party rocking and have everyone on the dance floor.
