Chest rattling. So loud we dissolved to nothing.
The faces of the audience were contented and serene. Some kept their eyes closed, soaking in the vibrations from the sacred Sunn O))) amps.
The stage hand was an altar boy, lighting incense for the band and fastening the input cords down with electrical tape when they shook loose from extreme volume.
People reached out to the stage like we were at a revival. I love Sunn O))), I love Venom.

On Friday, April 19th Mark Kuro ( ) will be hitting the turn tables with our friends . Mark is going to be spinning punk all night. An audiophile with a stellar and versatile collection, he’s got a wide palate that he’ll let everyone in on. 🤍

A few photos from hotload.la playing Detroit WE LOVE EVERYONE . The band played a dying breed of unpretentious punk rock n roll with a lot of attitude and grit. They were visibly spent, with the vocalist saying he felt sick from eating Detroit Style Pizza, making us all fearful a Hot Load was going to get dropped in his jeans. Illness aside, they plated a tight set with a heavy dose of John Belushi energy. Earlier that day there was a shoot out in front of my home, injuring my neighbor critically. My car window got shot. Zoë drove me to teach class since my vehicle was in the middle of an active crime scene. We pulled up to the gig after. Detroit is not for the faint of heart. I’m always feeling the importance of connecting with friends and neighbors in a broader sense than just subcultures and shared tastes, and protecting each other in this harsh and scary world.🤍
