Data centers and solar fields rob farmland.
🚨 BREAKING: Concerns over large-scale data center development continue to grow in parts of Michigan as residents question proposals located near neighborhoods, forests, farmland, lakes, and rural communities. 🌲⚡🏗️
Rather than remaining silent, many Michiganders are speaking out about projects they believe could dramatically alter open landscapes and transform natural areas into sprawling industrial technology facilities.
Community members in several regions say they want to preserve farmland, wooded areas, scenic shorelines, and the rural character that has defined their hometowns for generations. Many are also raising questions about how these developments could affect nearby homes, schools, roads, and local infrastructure.
One resident reportedly expressed the concern simply: “Projects of this size don’t belong in the middle of our communities.”
As data center construction accelerates across the country, the debate in Michigan continues to intensify. For many residents, the issue is about more than development—it’s about protecting natural beauty, preserving community identity, safeguarding local resources, and ensuring future growth reflects the values of the people who call these places home. 🌊🏡❄️

This looks awesome. Been enjoying watching hi g the World Cup. Have yet to go to see Detroit FC.
The projected opening of the Detroit City FC’s new stadium in southwest Detroit has been pushed back to spring 2028, a year later than previously anticipated.
The $153 million project, slated to house 15,000 fans and anchor a broader nearly $200 million effort, encountered a variety of roadblocks, including delays tearing down the dilapidated former Southwest Detroit Hospital building that the stadium will end up replacing at Michigan Avenue and 20th Street.
In a Jun.16 news release, the team said “the adjusted timeline is intended to ensure Detroit City FC and its partners deliver the strongest possible fan experience, matchday environment and long-term community impact.”
In addition to revealing the updated timeline, the team also released new interior renderings of the stadium and said a groundbreaking on the project is expected in July. Demolition on the hospital began in December.

Slowly but surely…they’re coming! Strawberries 🍓
Strawberry picking update:
Strawberries continue to ripen, and we are expecting light to good picking conditions this weekend…this is dependent on the weather and picking volume. Peak season will likely arrive next week, bringing the best picking opportunities. Please keep in mind that picking conditions can change daily and even sometimes hourly. We do our best to predict availability, but factors such as weather, ripening rates, and customer turnout can make conditions difficult to forecast accurately. We look forward to seeing you in the fields!
