Salaam everybody,
Please vote yes to the Wayne County parks millage!!!

Below is the reason why:

The parks millage allows the county to give money towards parks projects to supplement cities' parks budgets.
In the past, we had no say on how this money was spent or where it went. In fact, its use was often detrimental when Gary Woronchak was our commissioner in that we saw it be used to replace Hemlock Park's pool with a splash pad, something that we would never have supported today.
However, in more recent years and with Sam Baydoun as our commissioner, we have been able to leverage our voting power to convince our county commissioner to more specifically target the parks and areas to which this money was allocated and even went so far as to get him to earmark the funding to a specific project in our area.
Because of this millage and Sam Baydoun, this became the sole reason that the splash pad at Morningside park was built and how we were able to stop the city from replacing Lapeer park pool with a splash pad in the same way they did at Hemlock. I cannot emphasize that enough.
Because of the way in which we have been able to use the millage to strategize investment of these funds into our specific communities and areas to achieve recreational priorities of the residents, I am in favor of supporting this millage's passage and continuation.

If this money is being used to help support our youth and keep them off the streets especially in the South end, we should not be rejecting it just because somebody who doesn't live in our area or reap the benefits of those tax dollars tell us to vote no on it.
If you want to see more investment to our youth, please vote yes to this millage, and do not listen to anyone who tells you it will increase your taxes. It is a few dollars going towards the investment into our children's recreation and future.

I echo this pictured sentiment strongly, but as they say, trash doesn't know when to take itself out.
I take exception with respecting Hussein Hachem's Hussein Mohamed Hachem decision as little as I do Hassan's Hassan F. Abdallah because Hussein, more than anyone, campaigned on the issue of bringing wards to Dearborn--ergo, he lied--, while Hassan was blinded by personal interests all along.
Hussein, you are forever a sellout to the east and south ends.
Hassan, I have no respect for you after your immature, undignified, celebratory picture.
I thank most of the other commissioners for their time.

The best part of running for office is Election Day!

I support equality and justice for all people. I believe in treating everyone with human dignity and letting God be the judge of their actions, instead of trying to play God.
If you don't agree in treating people with respect and giving them the rights afforded to them by the Constitution of this county, then that's your personal opinion, and I'm not going to persecute you for being a hypocrite when you demand that people respect you or your opinions. But I will stop you from commenting on my page. Starting today I'm going to start removing comments that are perpetuating discrimination, hate, toxicity, or double standards against women or minorities.
I would encourage everybody to just immediately delete those kinds of messages, bc even if you respond or argue with them, you only give them undeserved attention. Everybody needs to just take out the trash 🗑. It starts with each one of us, and it's the least we can all do.
