You might be trying to do this yourself, so here’s a tip when you’re looking at your sanding marks.
Always best to try to keep as much material on the boat as possible, but sometimes you need to go lower, depending on the level of oxidation.
Cleaning up the keel of your boat has more benefits than just looking great!
It helps reduce drag in the water.
Less drag = more gas savings!
Less drag = higher top speed!
Don’t just clean up and coat the above water areas of your boat, let’s talk about doing the entire thing!
Do it right the first time!
Don’t worry, no wax was harmed making this video.

Every section of this 42 year old boat requires a different approach.
This particular section needed an even lower grit to get through the oxidation properly.
From 600 all the way up to 3000!
Two cutting steps with wool and a rotary, a mid step with wool and a DA and a final foam step with a DA.
You don’t need to let your most prized possessions sun bake and rot.
