I’m so excited to donate a variety of plants for students to enjoy and learn from. Gardening gives children a chance to connect with nature, learn responsibility, practice patience, and experience the joy of watching something grow from their own care and effort.

I truly believe more schools should incorporate gardening activities into their programs. Whether it’s planting flowers, growing vegetables, or caring for classroom plants, hands-on experiences like these help kids build confidence, curiosity, and a greater appreciation for the world around them.

I was recently asked for my opinion on plants that can provide privacy cover along a fence line that does NOT include shrubs and grows quickly. Here’s my top 3 choices

-Corkscrew Willow (kept in a pot or it will get too big! I suggest 2 per 5 gallon pots)
-Giant Mexican Marigolds
-Giant Canna Lillies

My Robin bird friends are getting more and more comfortable with me all the time. Sometimes it feels like they’re close enough that I could literally pet them. It’s almost like they have no fear of me. There’s a duo of Robins that will stay right on my butt until I fill up the bird baths I have in the back, then they leave me alone… until it’s time to fill up the water again.

It’s almost like they know I really do mean to keep their bird baths filled, I just need a reminder sometimes. 😊
