Habituation is a double agent: it creates muscle memory, but it can just as easily normalize risk.
Safety doesn’t fail in chaos, it often fails in the comfort of "we’ve done this a thousand times." As we kick off Safety Month, it is important to recognize how easily tasks can become mundane, and how that sense of routine can cause potential safety risks to be overlooked.
By building safe practices into daily operations, including moments to evaluate those practices, we can reduce the need to constantly think about safety and instead make it a natural part of how we work.
What are you doing to intentionally build safe habits?
Stay tuned throughout the month for more safety insights and reminders, and learn more about how safety shapes our culture at www.foth.com/safety

Not only is interactive learning more fun, it's proven to enhance cognitive learning, memory, and understanding.
At a recent Kids in STEM event, students explored a variety of interactive stations focused on minerals, augmented reality, robotics, groundwater, computer-aided design, and forces and motion. These experiences, developed by Foth team members, helped connect STEM concepts to real-world applications in students’ everyday lives.
We believe supporting STEM education turns today’s curiosity into tomorrow’s innovation. By investing in hands-on learning experiences, our goal is to inspire the next generation of problem-solvers who will shape the communities we serve.

Last week, you saw the making of a custom automation machine.
Now you’re seeing the speed behind it.
A handshake.
A heartbeat.
A finger snap.
That’s all it takes for thousands of coordinated actions to happen in perfect sequence — precisely, seamlessly, and without pause. When performance matters, even fractions of a second count.
Learn more about how this machine works and what it’s capable of.

Client: I need a custom automation solution.
Us: Great, we excel at that.
Client: Can I see your work?
Us: Unfortunately, no. It's proprietary just like your equipment will be.
Client: 😐
We get it. "Trust us, we've done this before" doesn't elicit an immediate vote of confidence. So we made something that does.
The Serial 1 Automation team is always building something innovative, but we take our clients' need for confidentiality seriously, so most of it never makes it to the public eye.
Today, we’re excited to change that.
Introducing the first-of-a-kind mechanical monitor machine! This custom equipment — designed, built, and powered by Serial 1 Automation — captures a user’s photo and recreates it by flooding a canvas with eight different shades of gray beads, forming a unique, pixel-like image at ludicrous speed.
Now we need your help.
It doesn’t have a name yet. What should we call it? Share your ideas in the comments below. 👇
