Community YMCA of Eastern Delaware County is having an official ribbon cutting in their new location at 409 N. Lansdowne Ave, Drexel Hill. It's a partnership with Delaware County Community College. I know a lot of Springfield families have used their services over the years from their awesome rec programs, health and wellness centers, childcare, and targeted programs. Try to support them and spread the word.

School is back! Yikes. As I wrote in the "Hello Neighbors", September always means new schedules and new seasons, both sports and fall. This is my favorite time of year!

In honor of school being back full time I wanted to share our charity spotlight for the month, Teachers' Teammates! I had the pleasure of meeting some of the staff months ago at a Delaware County Chamber of Commerce event. I know one of our local banks, Sharon Savings Bank, does a lot of work with them. I think we can all appreciate what teachers go through on a regular basis and their tool boxes are filled with pencils, notebooks, dry erase boards, folders, and erasers. Teachers' Teammates ensures they have a full tool box in order to help educate our youth. Too often the cost falls on the teachers if students can't pay for their own supplies.

**For the month of September we will have a collection box at Premier Property Sales and Rentals - 192 Saxer Ave. Drop off any school supplies you may have laying around the house, in the drawer in your office, or stop by a local store and spend a few bucks to get some new supplies for the kids..and teachers that need them the most.

More sports stories. Here's an article on the successes of the Springfield AA baseball and softball teams this spring and summer. It seemed like every time I turned around they were winning championships in tournaments, leagues, and even state titles. Feel free to add to this thread if there are any we missed. I don't know Ed but I know the article was well received and I know his daughters are following in his footsteps with volunteering their time and sharing their love for coaching and teaching.
