🚨 IMPORTANT LICENSE RENEWAL UPDATE 🚨
Beginning July 1, 2025, fingerprint-based background screening became required prior to renewing your nursing license in Florida.
What you need to know:
✔️ Fingerprinting must be completed BEFORE submitting your renewal
✔️ Use an approved Florida LiveScan provider
✔️ Plan ahead to avoid delays
💡 Optional but important:
You may choose to retain your fingerprints in the Florida Care Provider Background Screening
Clearinghouse for 5 years
➡️ This allows sharing across agencies
➡️ $43.25 fee applies
⚠️ APRNs don’t overlook this:
Maintaining your RN license is still critical for mobility, licensure in other states, and avoiding delays if you relocate
