At Reliable Electric, we honor this day and recommit to building a more inclusive workplace. The construction industry still grapples with racial inequality — just 6% of its workforce is Black. John is our longest-tenured employee and has been a vital part of Reliable Electric's success since joining us while still in high school. As Lead Estimator, he has played a key role in helping us secure many of the projects that have shaped our company. His dedication, loyalty, work ethic, and expertise have made him one of the very best at what he does.

Over the years, John has become the quiet force behind countless wins, leading with integrity and a commitment to doing things the right way. Whether it's owning mistakes, mentoring others, or even sleeping on the office couch to get a bid out on time (earning himself the legendary "Couch Potato Award"), John consistently goes above and beyond. At our May All-Hands, we proudly recognized 𝕯𝖊𝖏𝖆𝖜𝖓 𝕳𝖆𝖗𝖗𝖎𝖘 with “𝕿𝖍𝖊 𝕲𝖔𝖉𝖗𝖎𝖈 𝕲𝖗𝖞𝖋𝖋𝖎𝖓𝖉𝖔𝖗 𝕬𝖜𝖆𝖗𝖉” – an honor reserved for an employee who shows courage, determination, and strength—someone who steps up in challenging situations and isn’t afraid to take initiative.

Dejawn is hard working and overachieves in most things he is given. His determination and dedication to achieve success is phenomenal. He's a hard worker, shows up as dependable, is both intelligent and a quick learner, and has a great work ethic. His foreman shared that one of his best characteristics is how respectful he is to everyone. When at one of the jobsites by himself he took responsibility for all of the punch items, fixing others mistakes without judgement and he knocked it out the park. His foreman said, "It’s a blessing working with him".

Paul is a Journeyman in our Residential Service Department. After 10 years, we asked him a few questions about his time here at Reliable so far!

What is your favorite part about your job?
“I like being able to "save the day". Quite often the customer is overwhelmed with worry that their electric problem will take a lot of time and money to find, diagnose, and repair. My experience usually allows me to find the problem in a timely manner and often make repairs right away without it sn*******ng into a huge expense. I can put them at ease and "save the day".”

What has been your favorite memory over the last 10 years?
“The time I walked up to the mic at a company All-Hands meeting unannounced and stripped off my suit to reveal a superhero costume, claiming that it was the new company required safety suit. No one, including Joe Ryan, was expecting that!”

What has been your biggest lesson learned in the last 10 years?
“Every day is a learning experience and that the more I know, the more I realize that there is so much more to learn.”

Between Paul’s extensive trade knowledge, exceptional troubleshooting abilities, dedication to mentoring others, and unwavering commitment to customer satisfaction, he has made an incredible impact at Reliable Electric. Colyn continues to grow and is constantly demonstrating his ability to get the job done. That's even if he is given a task he hasn't done before. He asks the necessary questions, comes up with a game plan and delivers what is expected. He takes pride in his work and always wants to deliver high quality work. He isn't afraid to take on new tasks and tackle them head on. He has stepped up time and time again and shows no signs of slowing down.

What a beautiful evening filled with sunshine, laughter, and great company! We kicked off the season with plenty of fun, including:

🌮 An amazing food truck experience — thank you to Claybourne Grille for the fantastic food!
🏰 A bounce house for the kids — an inflatable racing obstacle course that brought out everyone's competitive side!
🎯 Games for all ages, including co****le, axe throwing, basketball, and more.
🎁 Summer-themed gift bags for the kids, packed with essentials to help them start the season off right.
🎉 A special celebration honoring 𝑱𝒐𝒉𝒏 𝑺𝒉𝒂𝒎𝒃𝒐'𝒔 𝟐𝟓 𝒚𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒔 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝑹𝒆𝒍𝒊𝒂𝒃𝒍𝒆 𝑬𝒍𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒓𝒊𝒄 — and yes, we successfully surprised him!

Nate is someone who just wants to do the job right every time. When you give him responsibility, he steps up and delivers. He's a fourth-year apprentice in ABC training and can be relied upon to manage calls on his own when his lead is on vacation. His department head said "if you give him the van, he delivers". He is reliable, holds himself accountable and is ready when his number is called. He is also very focused on his own development and building his skill set.

Exciting updates were shared about upcoming projects, strategic goals and employee benefits. We also reinforced our commitment to safety, as it is a top priority at Reliable Electric.

At our May All-Hands, we proudly recognized 𝕸𝖆𝖙𝖙 𝕳𝖔𝖔𝖐 with “𝕿𝖍𝖊 𝕳𝖊𝖑𝖌𝖆 𝕳𝖚𝖋𝖋𝖑𝖊𝖕𝖚𝖋𝖋 𝕬𝖜𝖆𝖗𝖉” – an honor reserved for an employee who is consistently loyal, dependable, and hardworking—someone who supports their team and always follows through.

Matt has been with Reliable for just about a year. He has grown a vast amount in that time, especially knowing that his background before joining us was new construction. So residential service is newer to him. Despite that, he has taken the bull by the horns and simply gets things done. In fact, he shows up excited about the possibilities and opportunities ahead of him. He has been a breath of fresh air with his positive, fun attitude but knows when to turn that off and focus on the work. His assistant department head has said "he can crush the job and has stepped it up to be a dependable lead that I can count on." That's high praise indeed coming from Jordan.
