Join us for a vibrant celebration of Latin American music with the Bach Society of Dayton in Canta y Baila, led by director David Crean.
Recorded at Kettering Adventist Church, this colorful program features Ariel RamĂrez's beloved Misa Criolla alongside folk songs and traditional favorites from across Latin America. With guitars, percussion, strings, and vocal soloists, the concert explores a rich tapestry of rhythms, melodies, and cultural traditions.

Opera is on the menu this Saturday!
While the Metropolitan Opera season is on hiatus, Discover Classical continues to bring you a complete opera every Saturday at 1 PM on The Opera House.
This week, enjoy a special broadcast from Dayton Opera, recorded live at the Roger Glass Center for the Arts. The program features Lee Hoiby's delightful comic opera Bon Appétit!, starring Allison Deady as the legendary Julia Child, followed by Shawn E. Okpebholo's The Cook-Off with librettist Mark Campbell, a lively and entertaining contemporary opera showcasing an outstanding cast and musicians from the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra.
After the operas, stay tuned for highlights from the 2026 Metropolitan Opera Eric and Dominique Laffont Competition, recorded at the Met with Maestro Carlo Rizzi conducting the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra.

A metaphor for the eschatological heavenly banquet, Bach used a solo trumpet to signify the glory of God. English pianist Clifford Curzon was one of the foremost concert pianists of the 20th Century. He performed extensively throughout North America, and was known for his interpretation of the major German repertoire. Tomorrow at noon we'll hear him perform an Impromptu by Schubert. Aaron Mood presents Retro Recordings, Saturdays at 12:03pm, with support from America's Packard Museum.
