On this special day, we are reminded and inspired by the resiliency of the African-American community and hopeful that through the small steps we collectively take every day, everyone will have the opportunity to experience true freedom and equality, regardless of background 💛🧡❤️💚🖤

Meet Sylvia Rios 🌿 The elder and wisdom keeper leading our upcoming Medicine Wheel ceremony on June 28.

Sylvia descends from detribalized relatives of the Southwestern, Toltec, Mayan, and Aztec traditions, and was raised in a lineage of storytellers, medicine people, and land stewards. For over 45 years, she's shared her ancestors' healing practices as a mentor and teacher, and today she leads Wellspring Rhythms and Urban Chicas Farm, a sanctuary for Indigenous, immigrant, and LGBTQ+ community members.

This past Saturday, we celebrated 80 years of fostering global understanding, one scholar at a time. 🌍✨ We gathered with our Fulbright Scholars, Humphrey Fellows, and Advisory Committee members for a special potluck in Berkeley, CA in honor of Fulbright's 80th Anniversary. Here's to 80 more years of connection, curiosity, and community! 🎉

✨ What does it mean to know where you stand in your own life's cycle?

Find out at Ceremony for Personal Transformation: The Medicine Wheel, a participatory workshop led by Sylvia Rios, elder, wisdom keeper, and guide, as part of our Roots & Routes World Tour series.

The Medicine Wheel is one of the most enduring symbols in Indigenous tradition: a sacred map of the seasons, elements, spirit animals, and cycles of our own lives. In this 90-minute ceremony, Sylvia will teach participants to co-create a living Earth Altar together using medicinal plants, stones, and earth elements aligned to the four cardinal directions and their spirit animals: the Hummingbird, Eagle/Condor, Great Serpent, and Mother Jaguar.

Through guided talk, journaling, and meditation, we'll explore the questions that ground us:
🌱 Who am I?
🌍 Where do I come from?
🔮 Where am I going?

This ceremony is open to everyone seeking connection to themselves, to community, and to the Earth.
