Happy Pride Month!!🏳️‍🌈
For June's Round Up at the Registers, we’re supporting the Davis Phoenix Coalition, a nonprofit that exists to engage and unite the Davis community in eliminating intolerance, preventing hate, and promoting a broader civic culture that embraces all aspects of our diverse community. Their goals include expanding outreach and visibility efforts, creating an LGBTQ+ resource hub, and establishing a dedicated community space in Davis that provides support, services, and programs for those affected by intolerance and their allies.

Ten years ago, 49 lives, mostly young q***r people of color, were lost because of a senseless act of violence against our LGBTQ+ community. The event was not the first time homophobia, xenophobia, toxic masculinity, and lax gun laws have cost us our brightest people. It will not be the last. We must continue to be vigilant and fight for our right to exist as human beings. More importantly, we must continue to spread love and support to carry our community forward. (via GMHC New York)

Did you enjoy the line dancing at Davis Pride? Come out and pick up some skills for next year. Tonight’s fundraising benefits Davis Phoenix Coalition which puts on the Pride Fest and supports all marginalized communities in our area

Grab you crew and head on over to our YOLO Line Dance event at Sudwerk Brewing Co. this Thursday, June 11. Sudwerk Brewing Co. is located at 2001 2nd St, Davis, CA. Sudwerk opens early at 4 PM for you to purchase dinner and drinks before we start.

5:30 - 6:30 PM is a full hour dedicated to beginner line dancers!!! Beginners, arrive early for the warm-up session at 5:30 PM and a formal beginner lesson of Ready for It at 6 PM with Kirsten.

Don’t worry we have several beginner dances to be played throughout the night. Every time we call “Everyone on the Floor” you know the dance is perfect for beginner line dancers and for people who don’t know the dance. Join the fun, make mistakes and laugh and sing to your hearts content!

However, when we say, “if you don’t know the dance please exit the floor,” please exit for the safety of others around you. These dances are more difficult and have twists and turns you can’t know are coming. One or more can get hurt and we don’t want pile ups on our dance floor. In addition, the dancers that know the harder dances have worked hard to learn them and should be able to enjoy the dance without worries of running into someone who doesn’t.

At 8:00 PM we will learn an intermediate dance called Esther by Kirsten. Esther is a fun dance by Chris Jacques from Boston. An intermediate dance is harder to learn and we highly suggest you watch the tutorial in advance. The link for the tutorial of Esther and all our dances is below in the comments. There is also a demo of Chris dancing Esther.

YOLO line dance events are put on by volunteers and 100% of your $5 donation will support the Davis Phoenix Coalition. The Davis Phoenix Coalition raises public awareness about social justice issues and promotes a pro-social climate and support of those in need of advocacy in areas of bullying, hate incidents and discrimination while creating safe welcoming spaces for LGBTQIA+ expansive identity.

All ages are welcome! Please note that music is non edited pop, country and hip hop.
