This past weekend, we got to celebrate a holiday in which we allow ourselves to be someone or something else.

Now, it’s Monday. The makeup has been removed, the costume stashed, and we are back to reality; where we can be ourselves.

….& it’s okay if someone doesn’t like your brand of leadership. Every leader has an intended audience. Find yours & lead. #startwithmonday #chidseyleadership #leadershipdevelopment #davidsoncollege

A hallmark of leadership is helping other grow and develop their own leadership capacities. However, what worked for you may not work for them because we all need something a little different. Equity is recognizing that we do not all start from the same place and must acknowledge and make adjustments to imbalances. Not sure what someone needs? Ask them…then actually provide it. #startwithmonday #leadershipdevelopment #chidseyleadership

An an emerging leader, learning to manage conflicts effectively can determine your trajectory as an influential leader. First understand that resolution & management are different methods with varying benefits for each. Next determine your personal style and where it can stand to make changes. Lastly, understanding the context as well as understanding the other parties involved will yield a great return on investment in building your capacity for navigating conflict. #emergetiptuesday #leadershipdevelopment #studentlife #studentlifepartners #davidsoncollege

Coming in HOT on this breezy Tuesday with a new tip! While it is a simple message, it requires deep work. You must first know your values. Next you’ll need to understand the values of the group/organization/project/task. Lastly, you’ll need to discover how they align. If they don’t, consider how you could spend more of your time on things that are important to you. Decisions become less arduous when your values are front-and center.

This week’s guest speaker, Candace Mulherin of Student Activities will lead participants through an exploration of their values. #emergetiptuesday

It’s Monday, Good People. Mondays can be challenging….and also a great start. Had a rough start to the year…the semester….the week? Here’s a template to follow up with people left in your aftermath. Say it a few times out loud to practice or type it into your notes so it can be customized, copied, and pasted in the DMs or a message to someone who needs this from you. It’s never too late for restoration. #chidseyleadership #leadershipdevelopment #startwithmonday

A white tile with the following words typed in black: I apologize if I was ever the toxic person in anyone’s life. Whether I did you wrong, led you on, acted on impulse, let my emotions get the best of me, or walked away with no explanation. I’m maturing everyday and righting my wrongs, slowly becoming a better version of me.
