We’re so excited to welcome Ian to the Return2Play Team!!

Ian is a Licensed Massage and Bodywork therapist in North Carolina with a certification in Clinical Neuromuscular and Structural Bodywork. He attended NC Massage School in Cornelius, and he attended Elon University for his degree in kinesiology. While in college, he fell in love with anatomy and physiology, and while in massage school, he fell in love with applied neuromuscular therapy. Because of that, he chose to specialize in neuromuscular therapy and sports massage with a main focus of pain management and injury rehabilitation. If you’re in pain or looking to improve performance, then he's your guy! He's here to help you get back to the activities you love, pain-free. When he's not in session, he's either reading, listening to/playing music, or playing with his 5-year-old husky, Spatula. He's as goofy as his namesake!

What’s the difference between sports PT and orthopedic PT? 👀

Both approaches help people recover from pain, injury, and surgery - and often use similar tools like exercise therapy, manual therapy, and movement training.

The main difference comes down to goals:
Orthopedic PT typically focuses on restoring everyday function like walking comfortably, returning to work, and improving general strength and mobility.

Sports PT often focuses on higher-level demands like running, jumping, lifting, and sport-specific performance.

One isn’t better than the other, they’re just designed for different outcomes.

At Return 2 Play, we take an individualized approach to help you recover, rebuild, and return to the activities that matter most to you.

t’s not always what it seems… 👀

Pain shows up in one area, but the root cause is often somewhere else entirely. That’s why guessing and treating just the “spot that hurts” doesn’t always solve the problem long-term.

That’s where we come in…to help you figure out what your body is actually trying to tell you.

Low back pain that just won’t quit? Your pelvic floor might be part of the problem.

Yep… men, that includes you too.

Your pelvic floor works with your core and low back to stabilize your spine. If it’s weak, tight, or not coordinating well, it can lead to compensation, tension, and low back pain.

It’s not just a women’s health topic. It’s a whole-body performance and stability issue.

Signs it might be involved:
✔️ Persistent low back tightness
✔️ Core weakness or instability
✔️ Hip discomfort or limited mobility
✔️ Trouble generating power or control in workouts

The good news? It’s treatable.

We have pelvic floor experts that can help.
