Fisher Farm just got some upgrades! Thanks to our amazing volunteers and a recent grant from the NC Division of Parks and Recreation for making these trail improvements possible. Yesterday, we finished installing a set of wooden steps, added posts for new trailhead signs, painted blazes along the trails, and completed some much-needed trimming and weeding. Celebrate National Trails Day this Saturday by enjoying these new safety and navigation features while you explore the park, with more improvements to come!

West Branch Nature Preserve permanently protects 90 acres of wetland and surrounding habitat in Davidson. As we celebrate our trails this week, we are highlighting a trail that is particularly special to us. The wetland trail is dedicated to Roy Alexander, our first Executive Director who was a committed advocate for conservation, including playing an instrumental role in the permanent protection of WBNP. Haven't visited this gem yet? We recommend parking at 18150 Shearer Road for the quickest access from the West Branch Rocky River Greenway. Turn right at the fork in the greenway and you'll soon find the start of a single-track dirt path that leads to the wetland trail. Don't forget your binoculars, this is a wonderful place to see unique birds and other wildlife!
