American Service Pets
Here's how it works: You start with a short online health assessment. That call belongs to the provider, not to us.
American Service Pets connects you with Licensed Mental Health Professionals for Emotional Support Animal (ESA) and Psychiatric Service Animal (PSA) evaluations, with documentation recommended when clinically appropriate. American Service Pets has helped more than 325,000 people nationwide connect with Licensed Mental Health Professionals for Emotional Support Animal (ESA) and Psychiatric Service Animal (PSA) evaluations. A provider licensed in your state reviews it, and if an assistance animal is clinically appropriate for you, they may recommend an ESA letter or PSA letter as part of your mental health care. American Service Pets does not issue documentation directly. An ESA letter can support a housing accommodation request under the Fair Housing Act, though your landlord still reviews it. A Psychiatric Service Animal individually trained to perform disability-related tasks may be afforded public access protections under the ADA. We know the rules get confusing, so we publish plain-language resources on what ESAs and PSAs are, and what federal and state protections do and don't cover.

She moved across the country and to Japan with them. πΎ
Casandra and her husband got Luna four months after getting married. As a military family, Luna relocated with them everywhere they were stationed, including Japan, and was part of every stage of their life together before their two-legged kids arrived. They lost her to lymphoma in August 2026.
For military families, a pet is often the one constant across every base and every move.

"Grounds me and provides deep pressure therapy." πΎ
That is how Melodie describes what her dog Bear does for her. Deep pressure therapy is a trained task, which is part of what separates a Psychiatric Service Animal from an emotional support animal.
iTrain Academy includes task training for Psychiatric Service Animals. Every dog and every handler is different, but that is where it starts.

Nearly 200 pet parents have written to an animal who is no longer here. π
Walls.io just published the story of how the Rainbow Bridge ESA Memorial Community came to be, and of the people who made it what it is. Since July, tribute after tribute has come in, each one a photo and a story about an animal who carried someone through anxiety, PTSD, illness, or grief.
The wall stays open, and your pet's tribute is welcome any time.

"He was your shoulder to cry on and your stuffed animal to cuddle." π
Wendy had Junior since she was 10 years old. He crossed the Rainbow Bridge in November 2025 at 13. He loved to eat, sleep, and play with a squeaky snowball, and in all those years he never showed a moment of aggression toward another dog or person.
Growing up alongside a pet means grieving a piece of your own childhood too.

"I see her in every sunny day, and she is the Last Dragon in the sky." βοΈ
Raya was Cassidy's adventure buddy and her best friend. She loved anything to do with water, went everywhere with Cassidy, and anyone who knew Cassidy knew Raya. She was diagnosed with liver disease and lived about a month after.
Some pets are so woven into your daily life that you keep finding them in the weather.

"Makes me get out of bed every day."πΎ
That is Ruth's entire description of what her dog Poe does for her, and it is one of the clearest explanations of an emotional support animal we have read. No command, no trained task. Just a reason to start the day.

"He is waiting at the Rainbow Bridge, to help along any newcomers." π
Rene and Dan's husky Cody had long talks with them that felt almost human, and eyes that looked straight into your soul. They believe he is greeting every pet who arrives after him, making them feel loved, welcomed, and unafraid.
The Rainbow Bridge Memorial exists for exactly this: a place for the pets, emotional support animals, and service animals we are not done loving.

She always knew before anyone else did. πΎ
Sarah's dog Lilly could tell when her anxiety and PTSD were rising. She would rest her head in Sarah's lap and stay there until Sarah felt steady again, then settle on her blanket a few feet away. They had 12 and a half years together.
That quiet attentiveness is what an emotional support animal brings to a household, and it is why the loss lands so hard.

Sometimes the dog picks you. πΎ
Linda met Simon at the humane society eight years ago, and she says he literally chose her. Her sister was there and witnessed the instant connection. Today Simon knows all her secrets and all her fears, and he is there for her.
An emotional support animal is not something you shop for. It is a bond you recognize.

Some people cross oceans for their emotional support animal. π
Lateisha found Elsa in Korea and did everything she could to bring her home to the United States. Elsa became her companion, her comfort, and her emotional support through some of the hardest moments of her life.
"You brought light into days that felt heavy and gave me a kind of unconditional love I will never forget."
