今天北美洲上演了一場日全蝕，而我所居住的達拉斯 (Dallas) 也位於月球本影路徑上，許多人從美國各地蜂擁而至，連學校都停課了。我昨晚通宵研究天氣，但凌晨兩點時仍然無法確定。達拉斯的預報一直是多雲，令我感到擔心，害怕再次錯失這難得的機會。

多年前，我在香港因天陰錯過了日環食，這記憶一直讓我心有不甘。今次，我在地圖上仔細挑選拍攝地點，最後選定了一些在月影路徑上且天氣預報良好的地點，但它們都不在德州，而是在阿肯色州 (Arkansas)。若錯過此次，下次美國才能再見到日全食，得等上二十年。

於是，一早我匆匆起床，還未吃早餐就開車往阿肯色州前進。我甚至匆忙得在導航上設置了錯誤的目的地，駕車四小時後才發現自己來到了湖泊的另一邊。然而，這個錯誤的路線卻讓我找到了比原先計劃更好的地點。

雖然我是獨自一人前來，但卻並不孤單。我遇到了許多友善的人，有些也是從德州來的。當日全食降臨時，天空突然變得昏暗，熟悉的太陽被黑影覆蓋。大家都分享著難以形容的感動，這種奇妙的經歷只有親眼見證才能感受得到，也讓我覺得這趟遠行是絕對值得的。

Today, a total solar eclipse occurred in North America, and I live in Dallas, which was in the path of totality. Many people from across the US gathered here, and even schools closed for the event. I spent all night studying the weather, worried because the forecast was cloudy.

I didn’t want to miss this rare opportunity like I did years ago in Hong Kong. I carefully selected shooting locations along the eclipse path with good weather forecasts, but they were in Arkansas, not Texas.

Determined not to miss it again, I woke up early, skipped breakfast, and drove four hours to Arkansas. Despite setting the wrong destination in my navigation, I ended up finding a better spot by the lake.

Though I came alone, I met friendly folks, some also from Texas. When the total eclipse arrived, the sky suddenly darkened as the familiar sun was covered by the moon’s shadow. It was an indescribable experience shared with others, making the journey well worth it.

🦬 終於得償所願！之前專程去其他公園失望而回，今次卒之畀我觀賞到美洲野牛，而且非常近距離。

Caprock Canyons State Park 係我最想去嘅德州州立公園，除咗野牛之外，呢度嘅地貌亦都靚到令人唔捨得走，啲營地係望到晒啲峽谷，我已經幻想得到自己會喺度過返至少一個星期。

雖然今次只係路過，但係都影咗唔少相同片，大家暫時睇住電話影嘅先（Instagram 有段野牛碌地沙片 😂），遲啲再同大家慢慢分享。

同大家報平安先，雖然去到已經天黑，但係我總算到咗新墨西哥州。多謝你哋關心我天氣熱同揸車安全，今日嘅行駛距離破咗我之前嘅記錄，亦應該係我嘅極限。聽日會向新墨西哥州嘅荒野進發！

I finally fulfilled my wish! In the past, I visited other parks and left disappointed, but this time, I finally got up close and personal with American bison.

Caprock Canyons, the Texas state park I've been yearning to visit the most, did not disappoint. The stunning terrain here is so breathtaking that it's hard to leave. The campsites offer a view of the canyons, and I'm already visualizing spending at least a week here.

Even though I passed through quickly this time, I still managed to take a lot of photos. For now, you can check out the ones I took with my phone (there's a hilarious video of a bison rolling around in the sand on Instagram 😂), and I'll be happy to share more with you later.

I just wanted to check in with everyone. Although I arrived after dark, I finally made it to New Mexico. Thank you for your concern about the hot weather and safe driving. Today's driving distance broke my previous record, and it was probably my limit. Tomorrow, I'll venture into the wilderness of New Mexico!

It's finally departure day! I'm looking forward to reaching my destination in a few days. Today, I'll be spending the first leg of my journey driving for eight hours to leave Texas (which is a massive state 🫠). Hopefully, I'll get to catch a glimpse of some bison 🦬 at a state park along the way. I'll be spending tonight in New Mexico, so wish me luck!

有時候，最難忘的經歷往往是在你最沒有預期的時候發生的。

最近在我從亞特蘭大到達拉斯的路上，偶然發現了一個世外桃源，令我感到非常驚嘆。在行駛幾個小時後，我看到了一個啡色的指示牌，指向一個名為「天然橋」的地方。我一看就知道，這裡一定很特別，果然，當我到達時，這個地方完全不負所望。

通常「橋」這樣的自然景觀只會有一個拱橋或一個洞口，但是這裡卻有兩個，真是絕美的景色，超出了我所有的期望。當我站在那裡享受這一切時，我意識到最好的回憶常常是在我們走出常規的時候創造的。

Sometimes the most unforgettable experiences happen when you least expect them.

In my case, it was a chance encounter with a hidden gem that left me in awe on my road trip from Atlanta to Dallas. After hours of driving, a brown sign pointing towards Natural Bridge caught my eye, and I knew I had to see it for myself. What I found was a natural wonder unlike anything I had ever seen before.

With not one, but two majestic arches, it was a breathtaking sight that surpassed all my expectations. As I stood there taking it all in, I realized that the best memories are often made when we venture off the beaten path.
