What makes our Buckner NextStep program unique? Oftentimes, foster youth aging out of the system go from highly supervised environments right into total independence, leading to severe difficulties and challenges that crumble confidence.
After noticing there has been a gap, our team has come up with 3 different phases, so that there is a next step for these young women before going straight into full independence. Our girls always have a safety net and “home base” with the staff while they’re slowly increasing in independence and learning complex life skills, all the while our case management and counseling are still present to support them.
Russell Dilday, a respected pastor and educator, devoted much of his life to serving others.
During his journey with dementia, Dilday and his family experienced the comfort, dignity, and support of Ventana by Buckner, a blessing in a challenging season.

On Saturday, September 19, Buckner Family Hope Center team members and clients gathered at the Sprouts Farmers Market in North Dallas to accept a generous contribution supporting the Family Hope Centers’ Healthy Eating program for Children and Teens.

Our Buckner International team wrapped up an awesome last 3 days at presented by Texas Alliance of Child & Family Services.
Buckner staff was able to grow in their knowledge and skills related to child welfare and connect with other professionals who share the common goal of protecting vulnerable children. One of our Buckner families (The Woodards from Buckner Longview) was also awarded Foster Family of the Year at the awards ceremony, making it that much more special!

Single moms are superheroes. They must drop kids off to school, make it to their job on time, organize the calendar, remember the after-school events, take everyone to the doctor, cook dinner, and get everyone in bed. And we all know that’s just half of the day. Finding time for single moms to finish school can feel like an impossible task, but we know education can be the key to generational change.

Research has shown children with involved dads have greater success in school, are less likely to do drugs, and have fewer behavioral problems.
