I'm not entirely sure when I heard about it, but APPARENTLY, there is a thirty food eyeball just sitting in the middle of downtown Dallas. It was created in 2007 by artist Tony Tasset, and was subsequently purchased by Timothy Headington, the owner of Joule, a luxury hotel right across the street. The eye is modeled after the artist's own eye, and apparently has no special meaning....

Wordle. Unless you've been living under a rock, Wordle has been one of the games that has crept up almost out of nowhere. It's a simple premise: guess a five letter word within six tries, with some helpful hints along the way. To me, the best part of the game is how it is deliberately designed to occupy only a few minutes of your time each day....

Can I rant about this picture for a bit? I'm in love with the details. The grain of the wood. The burned etches. It just pops. I fiddled with the aperture to play with the depth of focus, but I settled on having one particular thing in focus - the needle. Everything else could just fade away into the background. Add in a little bit of color correction to get a "teal and orange" aesthetic, and you have something worth feeling good about....

New blog post? What a surprise! Since graduating in May, everything has been non-stop for me. Here's a rough list of what I've done. Moved back to New York for a few days. Moved in with my wife in DFW, Texas Started a temporary optometry position while I waited to get licensed in Texas. Got a new (used) car Moved again to a new apartment…...

Every once in a while I enjoy exploring my local neighborhood. Since I moved every 3 months this past year, it made for some interesting discoveries every time. In a recent trip, I found a neat view of the Boston skyline from right in my neighborhood. Perks of living on a hill I guess. This is my first pano since my time in St Louis I believe....

What comes next? No more assignments and no more late night studying. Now I'm taking much needed time to read (for fun!) and learn as much as I can before putting myself through a steady 9-5. It's definitely weird to go from a life of education almost non-stop to this. I know most people go through this right after getting a bachelors, but this is my first experience with it and it's mildly unsettling....

No one knows this picture exists. I've held onto it for three years for this special day. This picture was taken at my white coat ceremony in my second year. While classmates were celebrating with friends and family inside, I had a quiet conversation and moment with my mom while my dad went to grab the car. I forget what we were talking about specifically, but I just remember that I was very happy that she was able to make the four hour drive up to Boston in order to make the ceremony....

It's finally time. After a long journey of ups and downs, its finally coming to a close. A lot of long days and sleepless nights have all accumulated to a piece of paper that grants me the title of "doctor". Unfortunately, my class won't be having an in-person graduation, so I won't really have the full closure of completing this arduous journey with a walk across a stage and a handshake....

If you know me personally, you would know that I try not to talk about my difficulties. I'm of the opinion that there are others around me that have hidden problems and struggles that are much worse than mine and have achieved more amazing things under more difficult conditions. But this time I choose to do something different. This time, I choose to celebrate....

Photography rant here. If you're not into that type of thing, feel free to scroll down and admire the pictures and leave. I won't be offended. When I first started out with photography, I was obsessed with bokeh. I love out of focus elements in the background and tack sharp subjects in the foreground. It just draws the observer's eye into the photo so that they see only what I intend for them to see....
