We also had a blast at Howard Happy Hour, the UVA event, the SMU 1L Study Break, and UT Table Talks.

What an unforgettable 6-1-1 Day of Service! Across Texas, Jackson Walker volunteers rolled up their sleeves and made a huge impact when it mattered most.

From preparing thousands of meals to assembling care kits and launching a food drive, the day was all about coming together to support our communities. The timing made it even more meaningful as we stepped up during a federal government shutdown that temporarily halted SNAP benefits for millions.

The air’s getting cooler, but campus recruiting is heating up. We’ve kicked off fall with great conversations at Texas A&M Table Talks, Tulane’s Texas Club, UT’s APALSA breakfast, Notre Dame’s Texas Club and Meet the Employers, and St. Mary’s Study Break. Thanks to all the students who’ve made this season so energizing — we’re just getting started.

Wrapping up our first round of 1L events with the Jackson Walker recruiting team! Our hearts are with everyone impacted by the devastating flooding in the Texas Hill Country.

Jackson Walker is donating to the Kerr County Flood Relief Fund and TEXSAR to support ongoing emergency response and recovery efforts. We’re also encouraging our attorneys and business professionals to join us in contributing.

The Down Syndrome Partnership of North Texas (DSPNT) is proud to announce the appointment of Heidi Angel as its first-ever Honorary Board Member. This newly established role recognizes individuals who have made a significant and lasting impact on the organization and its mission to support individuals with Down syndrome and their families.

Heidi, a partner at Jackson Walker LLP in the Trusts & Estates practice group, brings not only deep professional expertise but also a strong personal connection to DSPNT’s mission. Her daughter, Emily, is an active participant in DSPNT’s teen and family programming, which further fuels Heidi’s commitment to the organization’s continued success.

“Having a child with Down syndrome has given me a personal connection to this mission,” said Heidi. “I understand the joys and challenges our families experience and know how critical it is to have an organization like DSPNT advocating, educating, and providing community for us all.”

In her professional role, Heidi focuses on estate planning, including special needs trusts and disability-related planning. She is a respected voice in the field and frequently speaks on guardianship and special needs planning for organizations such as The Arc, IDD Council, Cook Children’s, and various Special Education PTAs.

As an Honorary Board Member, Heidi will continue to support DSPNT’s advocacy, education, and outreach efforts—ensuring that families across North Texas have access to the resources and support they need to thrive. Jackson Walker LLP
