The Kissing Hand is a great book to read this time of the year. Summer is wrapping up, and the new school-year routine is our family focus. After reading this sweet story, here are a few lesson plan ideas to go with it:
Fine motor skills: cut out hearts
Science and Snack: make kissing hand cookies
Language Arts Center: sequencing pictures from the story
Math Center: make a count the kisses activity
SEL: as a group, match simple emoji faces with emotions (make them raccoon emojis!)
Art Center: make a raccoon paper bag puppet
