Yesterday we held a turtle nesting training with Ecomar on Sapodilla Private Island 🐢
There are ten nests on the island right now, and hatchlings have already started, the most recent just a couple of days ago.
The training covered how to read the tracks, how to mark a nest and when to stay well out of the way. So now our team is ready for the rest of the season and the ones to come!

5 things to know before you visit Belize 🇧🇿
If Belize is on your list for this year, these are the things worth knowing before you book.
🗣️ English is the official language
The only country in Central America where it is.
🐠 The barrier reef is the second largest in the world
It runs the length of the coast and it’s a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
🌴 It’s small enough to do properly
You can be on the reef in the morning and at a Maya site in the jungle the same week.
☀️ Dry season runs roughly December to May
That’s the calmest water and the most reliable weather. Green season is quieter and cheaper if you don’t mind afternoon rain.
🏝️ The south is a different trip than the north
Placencia and Southern Belize are slower, less built up and less crowded than the northern cayes.
