I went to measure a house over on Rosemont yesterday...
And ran into one of the craziest features I've ever seen in a house. I don't know if it's cool or creepy..
What do you say?
OK, I think this might be my last update on the project in , at least on the interior, as the owners are moving in this weekend!

End of an era.
For over 25 years, one constant on my desk never changed: the Microsoft IntelliMouse. Since around 2000, it’s been the one piece of gear I could always count on. I’ve gone through more of them than I can remember. When they stopped making them, I hunted down every last bit of old new stock on eBay just to keep the streak alive.
Eventually, I moved to the IntelliMouse Pro. It carried the torch for a while, but a couple years ago that line quietly disappeared too. No replacements, no backup stock, nothing left to chase.
So today marks the end of a 2.5+ decade run.
I’ve officially made the switch to the Razer DeathAdder.
Feels weird, honestly. Like closing a chapter I never expected to end. But also a little exciting stepping into something new after all this time.
Big day in my world.

✨ Progress continues on our Craftsman airplane bungalow in the Winnetka Heights Historic District of Oak Cliff. ✨
Out front, the cedar arbor and porch structure are taking shape, with heavy timber beams and classic Craftsman columns beginning to frame the entry.
Inside, the details that define the home are coming together. Coffered ceilings, custom cabinetry, and built-ins are now in place, and the wood floors laid at intersecting angles create a subtle movement as you move through the space.
Bathrooms are starting to come together as well, with classic subway tile, a freestanding tub, and warm wood finishes that feel right at home in this historic neighborhood.
Piece by piece, the character of the house is revealing itself.

Last week I took a quick tour around the neighborhood — North Oak Cliff — to check in on a few of my projects currently under construction.
First stop: 127 N. Edgefield.
This one’s a two-car garage with an office above. The fun challenge here was adding a carport over the driveway — but with lot coverage limits, we could only cover one side. So we got creative, and the final design turned out better because of it.
Next up: 1118 N. Clinton Ave.
A classic Tudor in Kessler Park that’s just getting underway. You’ll be seeing a lot more of this one — we’re transforming it from a single-story, 1,500 sq. ft. home into a two-story, 3,300 sq. ft. beauty while keeping its historic charm intact.
And finally: 215 S. Clinton Ave.
A small but mighty addition to a charming Craftsman bungalow in Winnetka Heights. Sometimes it’s the subtle changes that make the biggest impact.
It’s always rewarding to see these projects taking shape just around the corner — keeping the character of Oak Cliff alive, one house at a time.

✨ Exciting progress on our Craftsman airplane bungalow in the Winnetka Heights Historic District of Oak Cliff, TX! ✨
The exterior is nearly complete, and the character of this home is really shining through. The arbor and massive columns are now standing proudly, complemented by the crisp sawtoothed 8-inch spruce lap siding. Detailed cornice and frieze boards, handcrafted brackets, fascia boards, and trim details are layering in that authentic Craftsman character piece by piece.
It’s the kind of progress where you can feel the home’s personality emerging — not just as new construction, but as something that truly belongs in this historic neighborhood.
