Builder life can be stressful, had to take a lil dance break 💃😂
🎲 Rolling the Dice - Episode 2
One thing nobody really talks about in construction?
The neighbor situations. 😅
During land clearing on this project, we had a tree that needed to come down — but the neighbor wasn’t comfortable with us cutting anything that extended over their property line.
And honestly? I was nervous about this one.
In development, situations like this can turn into disputes FAST if they aren’t handled professionally. The last thing you want is unnecessary conflict before the build even really starts.
So instead of forcing the issue, my crew adjusted the plan and carefully brought the tree down without touching the neighbor’s property at all.
That’s the part of construction people don’t always see:
It’s not just about building houses.
It’s problem-solving, communication, and keeping projects moving without creating bigger issues.
You’re going to run into challenges in this business — with neighbors, cities, utilities, inspections, subcontractors… all of it.
The key is staying calm and handling it professionally. 🎲
Life of a Builder. These little dogs tried to jump me 😂
🎲 Rolling the Dice — Episode 1
Let’s start this series with a real one.
Everyone loves to talk about the wins in real estate — the finished houses, the profits, the highlight reels. But the reality of building is that things go wrong… sometimes in places you’d never expect.
Recently, I found out that liens weren’t cleared at closing by the title company on one of my projects. Something that should’ve been handled during closing is now turning into a cash flow and time issue that I have to sort out on the back end.
That’s the reality of development. Even when you have the right people in place, things can slip through the cracks.
But part of being a builder is solving problems quickly and keeping the project moving.
So I’m starting a new series called “Rolling the Dice”
Real situations. Real problems. Real lessons from the jobsite and behind the scenes of building.
Because the truth is — this business isn’t about avoiding problems… it’s about knowing how to handle them when they show up.
