Magnus Dojo
Magnus Dojo is our private training facility promoting strengthening of your body, mind, and spirit. In early 2020 we relocated to Richmond.
Deadlifter’s Fortress Barbell Club was established in 2011 in Reynoldsburg, Ohio as a dream of Jason and Missy Gall. We started a gym in our garage as a place for ourselves and any serious like minded individuals to train in Powerlifting and Bodybuilding. Our goal was to eventually move into a warehouse facility and open up to the public. From 2011 to 2013 we added more and more equipment and branched out into Strongman and Weightlifting. We did come to the conclusion after much number crunching that it would not be financially viable to open a public facility and instead began focusing on having the best private garage gym that we could. Kentucky and now have a 1500 Sq Ft space for our expanding barbell club. While members have come and went the one constant is Jason and Missy, the Deadlifter and The Fortress. We currently have two power racks, three flat benches, 1 adjustable bench, a power bar and Olympic Weightlifting bar, numerous speciality barbells, steel and bumper plates, chains and bands, a lat pulldown/low row, cable crossover, seated leg extension and leg curl, leg press, airdyne bike, concept 2 rower, two back raises, farmers walk handles, strongman log, sled, war wagon, battle ropes, heavy bag and double end bag, dumbbells, and probably some more stuff I am forgetting. While our training can vary the core base remains the Westside Barbell Conjugate system that we have formulated over the past decade.
Recent Training Logs
Weight training is usually chest/back, arms, and delts/legs. Conditioning work is done with different combinations of boxing, kickboxing, rowing, cycling, running, sandbags, kettlebells, sled drags, rucks, and medicine ball work. We do medley type assessment tests regularly to compete. Intensity is regulated each day based on recovery.

When it comes to strength sports Weightlifting has a far more storied history and prestige than powerlifting. It has one recognized international governing body and is contested in the Olympics, at least for now.
To be the top of either sport you need to dedicate yourself wholly to that sport. For the majority of lifters though there is a lot to be learned from both sports.
We are starting to incorporate more variations of the classical lifts from Weightlifting (Clean and Jerk, Sn**ch). While we are unlikely to do the classic lifts themselves, we are starting to use sn**ch grip high pulls, power cleans and push presses, behind the neck presses with a sn**ch grip, muscle sn**ches, front squat plus power jerk, etc.
