Undoubtedly, the greatest gift any of us will ever receive is Jesus, the gift of God’s own Son who came to dwell among us. The many aspects of this gift are mind-boggling--the fact that Jesus was willing to lay aside His deity to take on the form of a man, or that this precious gift to mankind was planned from the foundation of the world--so it is no wonder that many of us struggle to fully grasp everything this gift means for our lives.

The Greatest Gift of All We can see God's plan to live among us through all the gifts He gives.

For many, this may be a difficult season as memories of Christmas includes loved ones that are no longer present. For others, it may generate feelings of loneliness as they see families and friends come together in love, yet have nobody with whom to share the joy of the holidays. But even if you aren’t alone during the Christmas season, or have your entire family with you, my question to you is this: what are you grasping for?

The Nearness of His Presence As you celebrate the birth of Christ, take hold of the spiritual reality of His eternal presence.

Whether literal or metaphorical, there is something so unnerving about being unable to see our own way. We do not like the reminder of our weakness and vulnerability. We do not want to be faced with the real presence of evil in the world. We hope it stays distant, but far too often, it catches us off guard and sends us staggering, blindly searching for a way out.

And when the darkness falls—the bad news from the doctor comes, the job is lost, the loved one dies, the betrayal is uncovered—it is easy to feel that this is a powerful force for which we are no match.

In the Midst of Darkness As fearsome as darkness is, do we truly understand the power of light?

Through the prophetic and spiritual warfare, our relationship with God takes on a whole new dimension. We become aware of a purpose and story unfolding that is bigger than just us, and we get the opportunity to actively partner with God in redeeming the world.

The Prophetic and Spiritual Warfare The concepts of prophecy and spiritual warfare often seem mysterious, overwhelming or downright strange. Lack of understanding and solid teaching causes many people to miss out on some of the most powerful--and most fun--aspects of our relationship with God.
