DALLAS TOWNSHIP ZONING HEARING BOARD MEETING

The Dallas Township Zoning Hearing Board will hold a public meeting tonight for the sole purpose of rendering a decision regarding the application of 2860 Route 309 LLC seeking a Special Exception to permit the conversion of property located in the B-2 Highway Business District to an institutional use as defined by the Dallas Township Zoning Ordinance.
The applicant proposes to utilize the property to provide housing for minors and young adults who are in need of out-of-home placement.
No additional testimony or evidence will be received. The meeting is being held solely for deliberation and issuance of the Board's decision on the application.

Dallas Township Board of Supervisors Statement Regarding June 17, 2026 Public Hearing and Special Meeting.

DALLAS TOWNSHIP, PA — At a special meeting held today, June 17, 2026, the Dallas Township Board of Supervisors considered whether to cancel the previously advertised public hearing and special meeting scheduled for this evening regarding a proposed amendment to the Township Zoning Ordinance addressing data centers.
The Board's consideration of cancellation was prompted by information recently received from the Township Planning Commission indicating that there may be a significant issue with the proposed ordinance amendment that could require additional review and revision before any action is taken.
During today's special meeting, many residents attended and expressed strong concerns about cancelling the public hearing. The Board heard those concerns and recognized the importance of providing the public with an opportunity to speak and have their views entered into the public record on this matter.
Following discussion, the Board voted to proceed with the public hearing as scheduled this evening so that residents, property owners, and other interested parties may provide comments regarding the proposed data center ordinance amendment.
To be clear this Public Hearing will be held tonight Wednesday June 17, 2026 at 6:00pm at the Dallas High School Auditorium located at 2030 Conyngham Ave, Dallas PA 18612
The Board also voted to cancel the special meeting that had been scheduled to immediately follow the public hearing. As a result, no action will be taken on the proposed ordinance amendment tonight.
The purpose of tonight's public hearing will be to receive public comment and testimony. All comments received will become part of the public record and will be considered as the Township evaluates the next steps regarding the proposed ordinance amendment.
The Board appreciates the high level of public engagement on this issue and thanks residents for their participation in the process.
