Myth 2: Active Duty Has to Wait FALSE. You can use it right now with just 90 days of continuous active service. Your ZIP code, pay grade, and dependent status all change the number. Step 2: Schools Before Neighborhoods Use GreatSchools.org filtered by commute radius from base. The school district should drive your neighborhood choice. Step 3: Call On-Base Housing Now Waitlists at major CONUS installations are running long. Call before your orders are finalized.
