Dr. King reminded us that moral courage isn’t just about what we believe, but what we’re willing to speak up for. His legacy challenges us to look honestly at the world around us, and at ourselves, and to ask whether our voices align with justice, dignity, and humanity for all.

Honoring that legacy means continuing to speak our truth as a company, and intentionally aligning how we lead, how we support our employees, and how we hire with the values of equity and inclusion he helped bring to light. In moments shaped by uncertainty and injustice, we choose conscience over comfort, and action rooted in compassion and accountability.

Juneteenth means freedom.

As we take time to reflect upon this day and what it means for people of color - and for all Americans - we share parts of an article by Leah Jones, a writer with Blavity, who succinctly captures the importance of this day.

"Juneteenth.....[is a] time for sorrowful reflection but mainly celebration. The Fourth of July may be recognized as America’s Independence Day, but it was not so for all Americans. Juneteenth recognizes that no one is free until everyone is free. It celebrates Black Americans and the end of generations of enslavement and the fight for freedom that went on long after 1776. It acknowledges the pain and bloodshed of that fight that is still not over to this day. With its many meanings, Juneteenth is a time for Black Americans (and all else) to do what they do best: come together, eat, sing, dance and celebrate."
