🚐 Transportation for our Senior Citizens Program is back!

With Billy as our new Senior Citizens Activity Coordinator, we have someone to drive our Deaf and Hard of Hearing seniors to field trips, grocery stores, events, and activities.

🎭 Step into the spotlight for Connect in Sign, a DAC community event presented in ASL by Dekisha Smith, one of our Deaf and Hard of Hearing Access Specialists.

Through a fun ASL-charades activity and presentation, participants will explore accessibility, communication, and self-advocacy while building confidence, connecting with others, and learning how to name their needs.

A bit about me: I’m Deaf. I’m from México; LSM is my first language. I grew up here in the United States and I was adopted into a white Deaf family. I consider myself to be multicultural. For fun, I love drawing anime and collecting antique items, especially Christmas decors.

What do I do in my new role here at DAC? I coordinate resource events, activities, and field trips for our Deaf and Hard of Hearing seniors. I’m also responsible for driving our senior citizens to grocery stores, events and such.

We’re collaborating with Deaf Mission Church UMC at Walnut Hill Church for an interactive presentation, led by Valerie Barker, one of our Deaf and Hard of Hearing Access Specialists. Learn how ADA Title II protects equal access and effective communication, including qualified interpreters and auxiliary aids.
