Back in action! Finally got around to putting a new head gasket on the supercharged flathead in my deuce roadster. I’ve definitely missed driving this heap. (I’m not sold on the aluminum headlight stands…probably gonna put the high headlight bar back on along with the painted steelies with Merc caps.)
Thanks to my friends at Hop Up Magazine for the fantastic article on my roadster, and for publishing another great annual. Go get a copy.
My ‘29 Model A Coupe. It’s been on the road since 2006, so next year will be 20 years…which sounds crazy. ‘54 Chrysler 331 Hemi and a Muncie 4-speed.
Bubba’s Coupe has several thousand miles on it now, and it still looks great. It was in the shop for a few things, and I just finished it up. I’m really proud of the way this one came out.
Got my new issue of today, and I was stoked to find this awesome 2-page spread of the 199 roadster in the 75th anniversary of Speedweek coverage. Thanks to Larry Erickson (who has his own bitchin’ Bonneville roadster) and Steve Coonan for including my car.

Got my SCTA timing tag from Speedweek today, and it does feel like we’re making progress. Even though I’m now part of the exclusive club that has a “blue” timing tag with a speed (245.890 mph) that is higher than the existing record (241.848 mph), because we couldn’t back it up. Next time I think that’ll be different, and we’ll get the record and a proper “red” timing tag. Thanks to the SCTA, my partners Albert and George, and my awesome crew.

Thanks to the folks at Winters Performance.
Yesterday Brian Bass / Bass Kustom set a new F/Fuel Roadster land speed record in his Winters Xtremeliner quick change-equipped Model A Ford at 212.301 mph in the Utah Salt Flats Racing Association meet at the Bonneville Salt Flats! Super stoked for Brian and his team—that's a hard-earned and well-deserved accomplishment.

We did it! New F/FR record of 212.301 mph! Thanks to my partners Albert (pictured) and George! And all of the guys that have devoted so much time and energy to making this happen. It is incredibly difficult to do what we just did!
