¡Estamos celebrando!
The Concilio turns 45 this year. To mark this milestone, we are doing something we have never done before.
In partnership with Latino Leaders Magazine, we are honoring 20 to 25 Latino leaders whose work has profoundly shaped Texas. We are calling them the Texas Latino Legacy Awards: Honoring 45 Years of Leadership.
There are three categories:
Legacy Leaders, who paved the way
Established Leaders, driving impact today
Emerging Leaders, shaping what comes next
These are leaders from every corner of Texas: Houston, Dallas, Fort Worth, Austin, San Antonio, the Rio Grande Valley, El Paso, and more. They are Texans who happen to be Latino, and their work has made our state more whole.
Honorees will be featured in Latino Leaders Magazine's special August 2026 edition and celebrated at a reception in Dallas on August 18.

“PASE has helped me teach my son about self-esteem. He used to be a very insecure boy and now he feels sure of himself. My biggest takeaway from the class is knowing how to listen to him. La Historia número 9 de 45 viene de una mamá que participó en nuestro programa Healthy Kids, Healthy Families:
“El programa Healthy Kids, Healthy Families es lo mejor que me ha pasado a mí y a mi familia. Hemos estado viviendo tiempos llenos de incertidumbre y miedo. Sin embargo, este programa nos ha dado las herramientas para seguir adelante. Además de todo lo que está pasando en el mundo, he estado enfrentando un divorcio y criando a mis hijos por mi cuenta. Gracias a este programa de salud, he podido salir adelante ante cualquier obstáculo. Esta motivación también ha mejorado mi salud en todos los aspectos: mental, emocional, espiritual y físico. Con la ayuda de este programa, he podido hacer cambios que han mejorado mi salud y logré alcanzar un peso saludable. “The Healthy Kids, Healthy Families program is the best thing that has happened to me and my family. We have been living in times filled with lots of uncertainty and fear. However, this program has given us the tools to keep pushing through. Aside from all that is going on in the world, I have been dealing with divorce and trying to raise my children on my own. Thanks to this health program, I have been able to rise above any obstacles that come my way. This motivation has also helped better my health in all aspects including mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and physically. With the help of this program, I have been able to make changes that have bettered my health and I was able to get my body to a healthy weight. My children and I have also learned to appreciate and cherish every moment spent together. I am convinced that without help and motivation all of this would not have been possible for me. “Estoy en el programa Parents Advocating for Student Excellence (PASE). Lo que me inspiró a unirme a este programa fueron mis hijos y mi deseo de aprender cosas nuevas e implementarlas en casa. Este programa me ha ayudado en la manera en que debo tratar a cada uno de mis hijos y cómo darles consejos. También he aprendido a trabajar en equipo con mi esposo e implementar todo lo que he aprendido en cada clase, por ejemplo: educación financiera, metas para el futuro, conversaciones sobre la universidad y la importancia de la lectura para los niños.” - Beatriz M.

“I am in the Parents Advocating for Student Excellence (PASE) program. What inspired me to join this program were my kids and my desire to learn new things and implement them at home. This program has helped with the way I need to treat each of my kids and how to give them advice. I have also learned about working as a team with my husband and implementing everything I’ve learned in each class, for example: financial literacy, goals for the future, having conversations about college, and how important reading is for kids.” - Beatriz M.

Hoy celebramos a las mujeres que mantienen a las familias unidas.

Today we celebrate the women who hold families together.
In many of the families we serve, the mother is the heart of the home. She is the one who carries traditions forward, supports her children’s dreams, and works tirelessly to create new opportunities for the next generation. She is often the guide, the advocate, and the foundation that keeps the family strong.
At The Concilio, we have the privilege of walking alongside mothers who show extraordinary dedication to their children and their communities every single day. Their strength, love, and determination shape not only their families’ futures, but the future of our entire community.
