Colon cancer survivor thankful for doctors’ thoughtful and compassionate approach to treatment 05/16/2026

What an incredible story of resilience and faith! 🙏
Retired Army Col. Dr. Lawrence Henry served nearly 30 years in the U.S. Army — six years as a Military Intelligence Officer and over two decades as a Green Beret, deployed across Africa, Central America, South America, Korea, and in the Global War on Terrorism. After retiring in 2020, he faced his toughest battle yet — not on the battlefield, but against stage 3C colon cancer, believed to be linked to burn pit exposure during his service.

He fought. He rang the bell in March 2022. And then cancer came back — this time stage 4.
But Col. Henry didn't give up. He went to MD Anderson, underwent chemotherapy and two surgeries, and today his scans show NO EVIDENCE OF DISEASE. 💪

Now he's channeling that fight into a nonprofit - A Bridge 2 Light - raising awareness about colorectal cancer — especially in Black communities where rates are disproportionately high.

His advice: "Find doctors you're comfortable with who will walk you through the process and explain everything."

**A MUST SEE***

Who cares for the caregiver?

One of the more important conversations I've facilitated in a longtime!

Exploring the question, "Who cares for the caregiver?" A Bridge 2 Light brought together

- A Mother
- A Father
- A Husband
- A Wife
- A Son

to discuss how did they navigated the complexities of caregiving to those with curable, non-curable, and terminal cancer.

Most of us do not "raise our hands" to be caregivers. However, this podcast will create not only a sensitivity for past, present and future caregivers (regardless of the illness) but provide resources to assist during uncertain times.

Again, a must see!

Tonight, A Bridge 2 Light hosts a very important conversation examining the question,

"Who cares for the caregiver?"

Probably one of the more important conversations I can have with family and friends.
