The simple truth.

More than 5,000 people showed up Saturday morning to ride the streets of Dallas together, car-free, and somehow the Dallas Bike Ride still manages to feel deeply personal in the middle of all that energy and joy.

We watched first-timers ring the bell at our booth with huge smiles and nervous excitement turned into pride. We saw families, longtime riders, neighbors, friends, kids, dogs, and people rediscovering what it feels like to move through this city together instead of separated by windshields. And every single one of you helped make the day feel special. Truly.

One of our favorite moments came before the ride even began.
We had two free ride passes to give away and received more than 50 heartfelt entries. Two stories especially stayed with us — Madeline, who was coming back from a hip injury, and Eugene, who would not only be riding the Dallas Bike Ride for the first time, but joining a group ride for the first time too. We were so excited to call them both and share the news.

Then Eugene stopped by our booth at packet pickup and told us something incredible…

Out of all those entries, Eugene and Madeline are actually a couple. ❤️

Of all the people, somehow the exact right two people found their way to us. And getting to watch them experience this ride together yesterday felt like the perfect reminder of what this event is really about: connection, courage, community, and joy.

Huge gratitude to Robert & Gretchen for all of their help and heart throughout the day. We could not do this without people like them who show up so fully for this community.

Yesterday was more than a ride.

It was thousands of reminders that people belong here. That Dallas belongs to all of us. And that when we create spaces for people to simply ride together, something really beautiful happens.

Thank you to everyone who rode with us. We are still smiling today. We cannot wait for next year!!! 🚲💙

Today was one of those days that reminds you exactly why this work matters.

Thousands of people came through Dallas Bike Ride packet pick up today, and woven through all the excitement, jerseys, and nervous energy were so many first-time riders. Some hadn’t been on a bike in years. Some were riding with family for the first time. Some quietly admitted they were scared. And some just needed someone to look them in the eye and say, “You can do this.”

So that’s what we did. 💙

We rang the cowbell for first-time riders.
We answered questions.
We shared encouragement, tips, sunscreen, electrolytes, and a whole lot of reassurance.

And honestly? The joy in that space was contagious.

One of the most beautiful things about today was seeing so many different groups, shops, advocates, organizations, and community partners all showing up together around the simple idea that bikes can bring people together. That matters. A lot.

Tomorrow, more than 5,000 riders will roll through Dallas. Some fast. Some slow. Some experienced. Some terrified. Some absolutely glowing with pride by the finish line.

And every single one of them belongs here.

Come see us at the finish festival tomorrow, ring the bell if it’s your first Dallas Bike Ride, snap a photo at our selfie station, and tell us what would help you ride more often. 🚲

We cannot wait to cheer you on. 💙
