Hello All,

During this time of grief, we want to express our deepest gratitude for the overwhelming outpouring of love, support, and prayers. Your kindness has been a source of comfort and strength for our family, and we truly appreciate each and every one of you.

We invite those who knew and loved Sam to join us in honoring his life. A public viewing for our beloved Sam will be available at Mansfield Funeral Homes on October 4th from 12pm-8pm.

Sam’s celebration of life will be held at Friendship West Baptist Church on October 5th. A final viewing will be from 10am-11am followed by the service at 11am.

A letter to Sam

**Dear Sam,**

Since you’ve left us, there hasn’t been a day that has gone by without thinking of you. Every time I feel sad, I am instantly reminded of how ignorant you were. I guess that was God’s way of setting the stage and preparing us for this moment.

I am incredibly thankful for all the time we shared together—our vacations, dinners, and those unforgettable moments when we would get kicked out of restaurants because of you. I still laugh when I think about one our vacations in San Francisco when you insisted they were discriminating against us - your family. You stood up in the middle of the restaurant, Sam Putney style and yelled out, “I’m coming back and I’m bringing some more N****s!" Since then I’ve been put out several restaurants, but none quite like that. Most of all, thank you for all the laughs.

You were more than a coworker; you were my friend, and my brother. I will forever miss you, but I’m not as sad now knowing that my daddy, Mr. Lee, just got himself a new buddy. Please don’t blow all that smoke in my daddy’s face!

I love you, Sam—until we meet again. Family for life

Something good came my way last night, I cooked Sunday Dinner on a Tuesday night. I was in the mood for it. We started out with my favorite Charcuterie Board and for dinner I did my Gourmet Pig Feet, fried Cabbage,  Broiled Okra, Candy Yams w/ Grand Marnier, Chicken Tetrazzini and Jalapeño Cheddar Cheese Cornbread Muffins. Yess I had time last night 😋 vibes time
