Wind Ivory

I been talking and posting in this group for so long about getting the siding off and painting the house pink. We started today! The wood is in a lot better condition than i expected. Please excuse my messy backyard I’m also planting and doing spring cleanup.

EDIT...progress! Working with a limited budget here..gravel, v***r barrier, gravel, new joists, and shored up the beams with concrete and more rocks!! Next comes plywood and insulation. Folks are asking about termites and post beetles. Nope..just dampness and age. The house was built as a summer cottage for Chautaugua visitors in 1910.

The joists cracked in our 115 year old cottage. Unfortunately the hardwood floors were not salvageable, and yes, that is a rock holding the house up! Will shore up the foundation. Cover ground with gravel and plastic v***r barrier, replace joists, plywood sub floor and stain master pet protect planks. 2 cats, 2 big dogs, 2 grandkids..hoping that rock will last another 115!

The trim and baseboards have several layers of paint ? I want to spruce them up. I’m a novice, but adding yet another layer doesn’t excite me. I’m on a budget. Thoughts ? Ideas ?

Bathroom renovation done ☑️ this one was a slog( isn’t everything in these beautiful old houses) extended into adjoining bedroom for more space, 4 months of no bathroom definitely worth it! We leave a reference to the previous owners in each room from something they left( they literally just packed their clothes and left!) so the sink is on a vintage cabinet from one of the bedrooms!

Refinished an old painted face nailed pine floor! Huge improvement but a lot of work.
