The AI conversation is changing.

For a while, most discussions centered around what AI could do. Now we're seeing more organizations ask questions about governance, compliance, insurance, vendor risk, and accountability.

That's probably a sign the technology is maturing.

In our latest article, we explore why AI governance may be influenced by insurers, vendors, clients, and business expectations long before regulators establish formal rules.

If your business is evaluating AI tools, it's worth considering.

AI Governance Won't Be Driven by Regulators Alone

Client sighting! 👀

One of our favorite things is spotting clients out in the wild, and last week it happened when an All Metals Fabricating truck pulled up right beside us in traffic.

It's always a fun reminder that behind every logo is a team of people working hard every day to serve customers, create jobs, and keep business moving.

We spend a lot of time supporting our clients behind the scenes, so seeing them out and about in the community never gets old.

Also... that's a pretty sharp-looking truck. 😊

Proud to work with great companies like All Metals Fabricating.

The conversation around AI has shifted quite a bit over the last few months.

At first, everyone wanted to talk about the possibilities. Now, we're having a lot more conversations about governance, security, compliance, insurance, and what happens when AI tools gain access to business data.

That's not a bad thing. In many ways, it's a sign that organizations are moving beyond the hype and starting to think strategically about adoption.

This month's newsletter explores some of the AI-related topics we've been discussing with clients lately, including Microsoft 365 integrations, AI governance, cyber insurance, and why understanding risk is just as important as understanding capability.

Take a look if AI is becoming part of your business planning:

Not exactly a “Feel Good Friday” post today.

But honestly? This one matters more.

We’ve been getting a LOT of requests lately from clients wanting to approve AI plug-ins and integrations into Microsoft 365 environments.
And trust me — we get it.

Everyone is looking for ways to save time, automate repetitive work, and keep up with how fast the world is moving right now. The pressure to “not fall behind” with AI is very real.

But in the rush to click “approve,” many businesses are overlooking something important:
AI tools can create very real security, compliance, and confidentiality risks if they are not evaluated properly before deployment.
This isn’t just about Microsoft 365.

Any AI tool connected to your email, documents, cloud storage, line-of-business apps, or employees can potentially expose sensitive data in ways organizations never intended.

We’re seeing:
• AI tools receiving broader access than expected
• Sensitive business and client information leaving organizations quietly
• Employees unknowingly sharing confidential data into third-party AI platforms
• Compliance exposure that leadership didn’t realize existed until after deployment
AI absolutely has a place in business.

But “faster” should never come at the expense of visibility, governance, and security.

We wrote a deeper piece for clients on what businesses should consider before approving AI integrations into Microsoft 365:

AI governance may arrive through insurers, vendors and operational expectations long before formal regulation fully catches up.

For many businesses, the safest and most practical path forward is probably not employees piecing together disconnected public AI tools across departments with little oversight. It is more likely using the AI capabilities already being built into trusted enterprise platforms that already provide governance controls, audit logging, identity management and administrative oversight.

We wrote about why AI governance is quickly becoming an operational business discussion — and why many organizations may need to start thinking about visibility, policies and approved AI tools sooner than expected.

There has been a lot of discussion lately around whether AI is becoming an environmental problem, and honestly, that is a fair conversation to have.

At the same time, there is also growing evidence that AI is helping optimize power grids, strengthen renewable energy systems, improve logistics efficiency and support smarter infrastructure management overall.

Like most technology, the long-term impact of AI will probably depend less on the tool itself and more on how intentionally we choose to use it.

Do you actually know what your business is doing wrong with AI right now?

For many organizations, AI is improving speed and productivity. But it is also exposing workflow gaps, inconsistent standards, unclear ownership and operational weaknesses that already existed behind the scenes.
That is why AI governance is becoming much more than a technology conversation. It is increasingly a leadership and operational maturity conversation.

We wrote about why AI is making leadership problems impossible to ignore — and why the businesses that succeed with AI will likely be the organizations disciplined enough to absorb that speed without losing operational clarity.

No more lion about it — we’re legal now 🦁

For 18 years, we’ve been fixing IT disasters, stopping cyber nonsense, recovering lost files, calming down panicked employees, and pretending printer problems don’t personally offend us.

We’ve survived Windows updates, ransomware waves, forgotten passwords, “Reply All” catastrophes, and at least 47 emergency tickets that started with: “Quick question…”

We’ve grown a lot over the years, but one thing hasn’t changed: we believe businesses deserve technology partners they can actually trust.

No gimmicks. No scare tactics. Just real support from people who genuinely care about keeping your business running smoothly.

To every client, employee, partner, and supporter who’s been part of this journey: thank you. Seriously. You helped build this thing.

And yes… we fully intend to use terrible lion puns while we celebrate.
