Meet Thorin, our 2026 Horse of the Year! At our recent Spring Horse Show, Thorin was officially recognized as Equest’s Horse of the Year, a well-deserved honor for a horse who gives so much to our community every day.

Since joining the Equest family in 2019, this incredible Shire–Quarter Horse Cross has played an important role across multiple programs, including therapeutic riding, counseling sessions, and our Hooves for Heroes veteran program. Thorin helps create meaningful connections and lasting impact for participants of all ages.

We are so grateful for all the comfort, confidence, and joy Thorin brings to Equest. Congratulations, Thorin!

One of our favorite moments from the Spring Horse Show was taking time to recognize three very special riders as our Riders of the Year.

Kara K., our Veteran Rider of the Year, continues to inspire everyone around her with her determination and love for the horses. Bradley M., our Adult Rider of the Year, has shown incredible dedication and growth this season, and Joshua A., our Youth Rider of the Year, brings so much heart, hard work, and enthusiasm every time he rides.

These awards celebrate perseverance, sportsmanship, commitment, and the connections built in and out of the arena. We are so proud of each of these riders and grateful to celebrate their accomplishments with our horse show family.
